The key to choosing a weight distribution/sway control system for your R-Pod 179 travel trailer is knowing the trailer's actual measured tongue weight (TW) when it is fully loaded with your supplies and gear, just as it will be when you head out on a trip. A weight distribution (WD) and sway control (SC) system needs to be matched to your actual loaded TW in order for it to perform properly.
All such systems, including the Fastway e2 # FA94-00-0600 that you referenced, have an operating... view full answer...
I have an answer to your questions. As far as the first question, I confirmed with Westin that the Westin Fey Diamondstep Rear Bumper with Custom Installation Kit # 20008-92230 will not fit your 1999 Chevy Tahoe. I also confirmed that the Diamonstep Rear Bumper would not fit a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 and a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500. Generally, manufacturers have to change minute details of the mounting brackets and hardware to fit specific years/makes/models of vehicles.
However, the... view full answer...
A vehicle's gross vehicle weight rating, or GVWR, is the maximum weight the vehicle can weigh when it's fully loaded, not including a trailer. Basically, you should never put enough stuff inside the Tahoe (including people, gas, and everything else) to make it weigh more than 7,100 pounds.
You may also see your GCWR, or gross combined weight rating. This is the total amount of weight the Tahoe can move, including if it's loaded to 7,100 plus the maximum weight of a trailer it can pull.

I went out to our warehouse and took some useful measurements of the Lippert 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver part # LC240220 for you. The side brackets on the hitch are 8" long x 4" wide. The distance from the bottom edge of the bracket to the top of the receiver tube collar is right at 2-3/4". Therefore in order to make above hitch work for you, you would need to trim the bottom of the bracket about 1/4". view full answer...
This is a really good question. So I checked out the weight capacity section of the Blue Ox base plate kit part # BX1682 that fits your 2002 Chevy Tahoe and the wording is a little tricky, but what they are actually referring to with the 5,000 lb weight capacity is the tow bar it's used with. So as long as you use a tow bar that has a higher weight capacity like the Blue Ox part # BX7420 you'd be totally fine. This tow bar has a 10k capacity. view full answer...
If the max trailer towing capacities of the 2002 Chevy Tahoe and 2005 Chevy Suburban are 8,700 lbs and 8,100 lbs then they should be able to handle a trailer with a GVWR of 6,000 lbs although you would benefit from a weight distribution (WD) system like the Reese Steadi-Flex # RP66559 as well as a transmission cooler.
If you don't already have a brake controller then I highly recommend using the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite # RED44FR because it is the only brake controller on the market that features... view full answer...
For your 2021 Chevy Tahoe, I recommend the Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball item # C45056. This ball mount has a 4" drop, a 2" rise and a 7,500 lbs capacity. I have linked a review video below that will go over the functions of this ball mount.
I also recommend purchasing the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock item # e98881. This locking hitch pin will secure your ball mount from theft. view full answer...

To determine the amount of rise or drop needed in a ball mount to tow the trailer level there are 2 measurements needed. First make sure the 2011 Chevy Tahoe and the trailer are on level ground. Then measure from the ground to the top of the receiver opening on the vehicle. Next measure from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler with the trailer level.
If the vehicle is higher the difference is the amount of drop needed. If the trailer is higher the difference is the amount... view full answer...
Selecting the correct ball mount (or weight distribution shank) in order to keep your towed trailer level is important since level trailers tow much better. I linked a helpful article that explains how to measure to find the ball mount/shank with the correct amount of drop.
I also contacted Jayco to see if they could tell me the coupler height on the JayFeather 22RB with its standard tire size. I was able to speak to a tech who advised the ball coupler height is 21-inches.

A Smittybilt XL tent weighs about 150-lbs without add-ons, so it is within the 165-lb weight capacity of the Malone Roof Rack # MPG216. This rack's 58-inch AirFlow2 load bars are longer than many others and will spread the load across a wider area.
I linked our main page for camping accessories in case you need other items such as camping chairs # 3697910BS, an adjustable folding table like # CAM51893 or an outdoor mat like # FR46341 that will keep the tent interior clean.

When towing any trailer, it is always important to tow the trailer as level as possible. Since your Tahoe is a taller vehicle, it is highly likely you will want a hitch with a drop to be able to tow your boat trailer level. Level trailers that are properly loaded tow better and tend to sway less.
I have attached a help article that will go over how to measure to determine what drop (or rise) is needed to be able to tow the trailer level. I have also attached a link to all of our 2 inch... view full answer...
I have a great brake controller for your 2008 Chevy Tahoe but GM did not install the necessary port for a plug and play harness in your SUV so you will have to hardwire one in.
The best option brake controller for your 2008 Chevy Tahoe LTZ is going to be the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller item # RED24FR. This is a proportional brake controller that activates your trailer's brakes when your Tahoe decelerates.
The reason the Tow-Pro Liberty is the best option is because of its... view full answer...
The Swagman Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier, # S64663, will handle most 26 inch and 29 inch bike wheels. To verify if this bike rack will hold your bikes, I recommend measuring the wheel base of your bikes. The wheel base is measured from axle to axle on the bike. This bike rack can handle wheel bases up to 52 inches long. It also has a weight capacity of 40 lbs per bike and the wheel loops will fit wheels up to 3-1/2 inches wide.

The harness you would need for a 2005 Chevy Tahoe is # 3015-P which is approximately 32 inches long. This should be more than enough to reach from the port under the dash to where you have the brake controller mounted. I have included some installation links that might help. view full answer...
