The way your 1988 Suzuki Samurai is currently setup, you have both combined and separate lighting systems. The combined system means the stop and turn signals are on the same circuit whereas the separate lighting system means the stop and turn signals are on a different circuit. Yakima does not list the SpareRide, # Y02599, as a fit for your 1987 Suzuki Samurai so I cannot recommend it. But Hollwood Racks does have a fit, # HRSR1, which also has a bracket that attaches to the spare tire mount.
