I spoke with my contact at Curt and he informed me that the underbody panel needs to be removed before installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C13103, on your 2008 Mercedes R350. He said that although there are only 4 bolts holding the fascia, the underbody panel is held in place by 7 plastic pins, or bolts, so caution needs to be used when removing these. If wired correctly, you should not experience any issues with the wiring harness # 119250KIT on your 2008 Mercedes R320 CDI. If something is not wired correctly you may get an error light on the instrument cluster and of course the trailer lights will not work properly but that is really about it.

Trailer wiring harness # 119250KIT is a universal type of hardwire harness so it doesn't have vehicle specific instructions for any vehicle. Basically, all you would do is use the included circuit tester to probe the tail light wires on your 2008 Mercedes R320 and attach the harness' wires accordingly.
