We don't have an install video for the hitch part # 75940 that you referenced but if you check out the link I attached you will see a detailed set of install instructions for this hitch. Typically Draw Tite does not go nearly as in-depth with the install instructions like they did with this hitch.
I attached a couple pictures that I took from the instructions for you to check out as well. view full answer...
Installation of the EcoHitch # 306-X7397 on your 2022 Audi Q5 S-Line Premium Plus will not require any cutting or modification. The hitch installs behind the bumper beam and the receiver fits in the existing cutout on the rear fascia. If you plan on installing the hitch yourself you should count on needing an extra set of hands. Reinstalling at the end is tricky since you have to line up all of the studs and get that fascia around the receiver.
I have attached an installation video below... view full answer...
We have everything you need to install a brake controller on your 2011 Audi Q5, but there are no plug-in style wiring harnesses so the brake controller will have to be hard wired. To install a brake controller, you will want our Brake Controller Install Kit, # 5506. This kit comes with a 20 amp and a 30-amp circuit breaker, be sure to check the installation instructions of your brake controller to determine which circuit breaker is required. The 40-amp circuit breaker would only be used... view full answer...
There are 2 things that you cannot do with any bike rack installed and those are opening the rear hatch/trunk or using the rear wiper blades as both of these can cause damage to the bike rack. This is the same case for the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top # HRF2 on your 2011 Audi Q5.
Although the Over-the-Top is a fit for your Q5, if you want a bike rack that allows you to use your rear wiper blade then I recommend installing the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75940 and using the Kuat Beta # B202-2.... view full answer...
According to the vehicle owner's manual for your 2013 Audi Q5 all wheel drive tire chains can be used on the rear wheels only and are only to be used only on certain tire sizes. But the manual does not specify which tire sizes and only says to consult an Audi dealer for those specific sizes.
The manual goes on to say that the chains "must have low-profile links and must not be thicker than 0.53 inch (13 .5 mm), including the lock." This means that you will want to lock at Class S rated... view full answer...
With regards to the Hidden Hitch - 2" # DT29GR, I confirmed with my tech at Draw-Tite that you can still activate the hands-free liftgate sensor on your 2022 Audi Q5. In order to activate the sensor, you need to swing your foot in a slightly larger range under the trunk. view full answer...
Since your Q5 has the factory tow package, you can use the Hopkins # HM40975 which would connect to the round US Car connector located behind the rear bumper. Take a look at the linked video which will show the trailer connector being installed on a different vehicle. Even though it's being installed on a different vehicle, you can see what the connector looks like. view full answer...
The Draw-Tite # 76183 calls for the beam to be removed and not reinstalled because their engineering shows that having the hitch in place provides just as much protection as the bumper beam. The install reuses the existing factory bolts.
If you'll be using the hitch for towing purposes, I'd recommend the # 119250KIT trailer wiring harness, the # C45010 ball mount and the # 19260 trailer ball for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball. If you use the provided links, you can see install... view full answer...
We do not have any installers we are affiliated with, so to install either the Draw-Tite # 75940 or Curt # C13136 on your 2013 Audi Q5 you will want to find someone local you are most comfortable with, and importantly, someone with hitch experience. Calling around and asking if they've installed hitches, and specifically on your vehicle should point you in the right direction.
A couple things to keep in mind when selecting your hitch is that the Draw-Tite # 75940 is a more difficult install... view full answer...
You can replace your surge brake actuator on your boat trailer with the Hydrapro Alpha G-1600X Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # DH44FR. You can either replace your coupler or lock it out to save some money. You will also need to add a 7-way # H20043, a breakaway kit # 20400, and a brake controller # 90195 if you don't already have one.
The Hydrapro Alpha G-1600X is weatherproof. However, just like other major EOH actuator brands, this should not be submerged in water. Submerging in water... view full answer...
I checked with Curt to confirm the wiring harness specified for your 2012 Audi Q5 and it is indeed the Curt # C59236. I also spoke to my technical contact at Curt and he confirmed compatibility with your 2012 Q5. This harness provides isolation and protection of the vehicle electrical system from the trailer lighting.
I have linked the installation instructions for this wiring harness as well as a helpful article. This is a hard-wire type harness that does not use plug-in t-connectors... view full answer...
The Stealth Hitches # 391AUDQ509 is definitely a fit for your 2017 Audi Q5, but is not an easy one to install. With that said, we have indeed started to get some installers listed on our site and I included a link to where you can find them below. You will just need to update the zip code to see those in your area. If there are currently none listed though, I always recommend going to a mechanic that has done good work on vehicles for you in the past. They will typically do the best job... view full answer...
I'm not sure which video you're speaking of, but I've confirmed with Curt that the # C56190 is indeed the correct taillight converter for your 2013 Q5. The # 55151 wiring kit is also needed to make the fused connection at the battery.
I've provided you with a diagram showing an install diagram. There should be 5 wires exiting the 'input' side of the converter, a white ground wire, brown for running lights, yellow for left turn, red for brake light, green for right turn and black to the... view full answer...
Bolting on an aftermarket hitch like Curt 2-inch hitch # C13136 on your 2013 Audi Q5 will not affect your car's computer but in some instances installing a wiring harness will. Often the effect is simply a code appearing on the dash.
We do have both hardwired 4-pole kits like # C59236 but we also have the ZCI Zero Contact wiring kit # 119250KIT that requires no cutting or splicing of wires, hence no permanent alterations to the car. Often owners of nicer import vehicles, and those leasing... view full answer...
I have attached for you below a snip from the instructions for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75940 which is a fit for a 2012 Audi Q5.This snip goes over the details for trimming the rear bumper fascia. Unfortunately, Draw-Tite does not provide a measurement from the bottom edge so I cannot provide this. In order to find the depth of the cut you'll need to measure from the top of the rib or recessed area, down 6 1/4” which you can see in the photo below. view full answer...
According to my research the wire that carries the cold side of the stop light switch on your 2013 Audi Q5 should either be Red, Red/Gray, or Red/Black. You will need to test this with a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 and then connect the red wire from the pigtail # 20127 for the Voyager # 39510. view full answer...
We do offer three choices in a 2-inch Class III trailer hitch receiver for your 2012 Audi Q5 S-Line Edition, viewable on the included link, and among these is the Curt # C13136 that you referenced.
All three hitches' installation will require temporary removal of underbody panels and lowering of the exhaust.
The linked instructions for the Curt hitch make no reference to any special install procedures for the S-Line edition. They linked file includes clear color photos and step by step... view full answer...
You are correct, the etrailer hitch part # e94CR that you referenced does not require removing any rear bumper support brackets to install on your 2023 Audi Q5. view full answer...
In order to install the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT on your 2014 Audi Q5, you would have to determine the functions of the wiring by using the kit's included circuit tester, as per the directions. Wiring can be different from year to year and there is no universal color code which is followed, so it's important to test your functions so you can wire it properly the first time. view full answer...
The instructions for Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 75940 are linked on its product page below the description and they are linked on this answer page as well.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
