  • 20 Amp Fuse Keeps Blowing on the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO
  • I called SMI to see if this was something they had heard of before and my contact said that your 20 amp fuse should not be blowing when you pull the breakaway switch on the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251. What he said you can try to do is swap out the 20 amp fuse for a 25 or 30 amp fuse and check all of your grounds. • Is It Okay to Use Different Tire Sizes on Trailer
  • The two tire sizes you have are similar but they are not the same. The 215 tire size is slightly larger in diameter and in width. You would want to go with a new wheel and tire in the size of ST205/75R14 like the part # AM32153 to match that size. The diameter difference between the two is right at 1/2 of an inch. Using different size tires is not safe so we recommend always running same size all around.

These controls are shown in the linked photo as items A and B. You can try adjusting your power and boost levels down to reduce the braking force sent to the trailer. If this fails to correct the excessive force you may have an issue in the trailer brakes themselves. Electric drum brakes should have a slight...
