  • First you will be able keep the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76253 on your 2020 Subaru Ascent. It is rated for up to 750lbs of tongue weight and a trailer weight up to 5,000lbs. Be sure to verify your maximum capacities with your Subaru dealer and do not exceed the lower of the sets of numbers. You will be able to upgrade your trailer wiring from the 4-Way Tekonsha # 118790 to the 7-Way Tekonsha # 118290. You will need to remove the 4-Way Mounting Bracket # 18144 and replace...

  • Adding Trailer Brake Controller and Sway Control to a 2021 Subaru Ascent Towing a Travel Trailer
  • I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 for your 2021 Subaru Ascent. This brake controller is customizable and proportional. This means that it uses its internal inertia sensor to help adjust your braking for light or severe braking conditions. You will need a Universal Installation Kit # ETBC7 to install the brake controller and 7-way on your Ascent. The Tuson Sway Electronic Sway Control System # 335TSC-1000 will attach to the travel trailer and control...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2021 Subaru Ascent
  • To add a hitch to your 2021 Subaru Ascent, I recommend our etrailer item # e55ZR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. It fits all models of the 2021 Ascent including the Touring. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 5,000 lbs towing capacity and a 750 lbs maximum tongue weight. I really like the etrailer Hitch item # e55ZR because of how it installs. The crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper cover leaving only the 2" receiver...

  • Recommendation For Hauling Two Mobility Scooters
  • While there aren't any cargo carriers that would fit two mobility scooters or even be able to handle the weight of two, you do still have the option of using a trailer like the Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer # K2MMT4X6. The loading gate isn't the best for a mobility scooter so I recommend getting some loading ramps # 288-07474-2 as well. You can use some tie-down straps like # EM04418 to secure your scooters to the trailer.

  • Could Brakes be Added to a Kendon Motorcycle Trailer
  • Most likely yes and pretty easily but it comes down to if the the axles spindles already have brake mounting flanges or not. You'll want to check for them and then check out the link I attached on this page that will walk you through adding brakes to a trailer.

  • Is etrailer or EcoHitch Better for a 2021 Subaru Ascent
  • Hey Sergi, thanks for reaching out! Go with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e55ZR. There are some subtle differences in design but really what the price difference amounts to is the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7381 was really the first of it's kind on the market, but then other companies started coming out with their own designs like it and TorkLift/EcoHitch still thinks that their design is much more superior to everything else on the market...which it isn't. Then...

  • In order to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR on your 2022 Subaru Ascent you will need to start with a wiring harness. Luckily for you the Ascent has a 7-way option that does not require the installation of a 4-way first. This wiring harness will plug into the connection point behind the rear interior trim panel. Once installed, you will have...

  • How is Weight Rating of etrailer Hitch that Fits 2020 Subaru Ascent Determined
  • Hey David, so aftermarket trailer hitch capacities do not always mean the vehicle is rated the same. What the manufacturers do is design a hitch that fits the vehicle and then try and reinforce it as much as possible to make it as strong as possible and then independently rate the hitch from the vehicle. So that is all the weight rating for this hitch relates to. Also, Facebook can be a decent source of some info but not everything you read there is completely accurate.

  • Is The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver a Good Match For a Bike Rack On a 2023 Subaru Ascent?
  • Yes, you can tell your customer our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e35ZR is a great choice for carrying 2 E-bikes behind your 2023 Subaru Ascent. I recommend showing them the Thule Epos Bike Rack # TH99XE which can carry 2 bikes up to 70lbs each. This has a frame mount as most e-bikes have fenders. You will want to tell them they should add the 4-Way Wiring # C56040 as they will likely need to add some Auxiliary Lights # C53201. The lights are typically needed behind most bike racks...

  • Will The Curt Echo C51180 Work On A 2022 Subaru Ascent With The Factory Tow Package?
  • Yes, the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 will work on a 2022 Subaru Ascent with the factory tow package. Sorry for any confusion, the way our site has it all laid out is a bit confusing. I will try to explain. When you select the "with factory tow package" option, it looks like it is only showing brake controller options that use a custom fit plug-in wiring adapter. Such as the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 and the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3062-P. Since your Ascent...

  • The EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7381 for your 2021 Subaru Ascent only has the mounting bracket for a 7-way connector. No wiring for the trailer connector is included with the receiver. The Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118290 is the wiring kit that you will need to install a 7-way connector on your receiver. The wiring plugs into the factory connector inside the back of your Ascent. If you have a larger trailer that...

  • Feet Needed To Mount A Rhino-Rack Platform On A 2024 Subaru Ascent With Raised Rails
  • The Rhino-Rack SX Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRSX100 are confirmed to fit your Ascent's raised rails and would be able to slide into the rails under the platform in order to mount it. I've attached a snippet below from the installation manual of the platform that shows how to do this. This would save you the cost of crossbars or any other adapters to make different branded components work with your platform.

  • Brake Controller For A 2020 Subaru Ascent
  • Hello Robert. The reason our site is showing only the “without factory Tow Package” options is because this is all that is available currently. There was a plug-and-play brake controller adapter from Tekonsha, part 306200, that is compatible with the factory tow package on your Ascent, but it is no longer available. You can definitely still put a brake controller on your vehicle with the tow package. It will just require removing the OEM brake control plug and hardwiring the controller....
