The Vibe requires a Modulite. A Modulite is a converter that draws 12-volts of current directly from the vehicle battery which is necessary for operating the trailer lighting. The electrical system alone, without help from the battery, cannot handle the increased amperage required to run the vehicle lights as well as the lights needed for the trailer.
This is the safest option because the extra amps to power the trailer are no longer going through the expensive electrical components of... view full answer...
You will want to check your owners manual or with the car dealer on the towing weight capacity of your 2009 Pontiac Vibe. The tongue weight capacity will be 10 percent of the towing weight capacity.
I recommend the Draw-Tite 1-1/4 Inch Class I Hitch, # 24812. This hitch is a simple bolt-on application. Even though the hitch has a 200 lbs. tongue weight capacity you will be limited to the lowest tongue weight capacity in your towing system, either the vehicle or the hitch.

I checked with Thule and the Gateway Pro 2 Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier # TH88VR that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 2009 Pontiac Vibe. I have linked you to a demonstration video featuring the Gateway bike rack.
The best way to prevent theft of a trunk mounted bike rack is to have it installed only when you are transporting bikes and then remove it when you are parked and are away from your vehicle. Any time an accessory like a bike rack is in direct contact with a painted portion... view full answer...
The Curt hitch # 12221 is only a fit for the 2008 Pontiac Vibe GT models. Heat shield modification is only required for installation if the heat shield interferes with the hitch installation area.
If you do not have a GT model, then heat shield modification would not be required. I would recommend the Draw-Tite model # 24812, as this hitch does not require heat shield modification, and it includes a pin and clip, which would be required if you plan to tow a trailer. Ball mounts are sold... view full answer...
Yes, it is possible, with certain exceptions. The Tow Ready adapter # 80303 should help you in most instances. The hitch I recommend is the Draw-Tite # 24812 Class II.
Please bear in mind, even if you adapt a 1-1/4" tube to fit 2" accessories, there are still limitations that will apply. Using the adapter will reduce the weight capacity of the hitch by 50% in terms of both tongue weight and gross trailer weight. In this instance, the Class II hitch that fits your Vibe will be limited to... view full answer...
Curt and other makers of hitch receivers determine how their products fit to any vehicle based on the vehicle being in stock condition. They cannot test their hitches with all possible aftermarket products and so Curt cannot offer absolute certainty of the compatibility of their hitch # C12221 with your MagnaFlow exhaust # MF16849.
However, my technical contact at Curt did offer that if your aftermarket cat-back exhaust uses only the OEM exhaust hangers and mounting points, if the pipe... view full answer...
You could use a Taillight converter like part # 118158 in conjunction with a wiring kit like part # RM-154. You can omit the converter from the wiring and the Vibe would not have the amber turn lights while being towed, but they would work when the vehicle is driven.
I have included a link to videos of part # RM-154 being installed on a Jeep Liberty and a product review of how part # 118158 works. On the product page for RM-154, there are diagrams showing how to wire the kit.

For your 2009 Pontiac Vibe you would want the Tekonsha harness part # 118460 as it is a confirmed fit that will install easily by plugging inline with the taillight harness. I can't recommend a harness from a different vehicle for yours.
I attached an install video for this harness for you to check out as well. view full answer...
As long as your 2007 Pontiac Vibe has at least 40 inches of space between the taillights, the Rightline Cargo Hatch Saddlebag, # RL100B90, will work great for you.
If your Vibe has a bare roof, you will also need the Car Clips, # RL100605, in order to hook the top two straps of the saddlebag carrier over your hatch door. For vehicles equipped with factory side rails or a roof rack, no additional equipment is needed.
I have attached a short video for you.

The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24812 that you referenced is confirmed to fit all models of the 2003 Pontiac Vibe so it should work very well for you.
I attached an install video and instructions for you to check out also.

There are 2 possible trailer wiring options for your 2005 Pontiac Vibe GT. The Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118458, that you have referenced would be the easiest to install. It has 3 sets of connectors and a ground wire. The 3 sets of connectors simply plug in line with your vehicle tail lights. The ground wire gets connected to a bare metal surface or existing ground point.
To get access to the connection points, you will need to remove the rear cargo area floor panel (as if... view full answer...
Yes there is a way that you can carry 3 bikes using your 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT. You can use a trunk mount bike rack. Your Vibe has that spoiler piece at the top of the rear hatch. To avoid putting stress on that spoiler there is only 1 bike rack I recommend; the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2-3.
This rack has an extra arm piece to move the top straps up and over that spoiler so no weight is put on it. And this rack holds 3 bikes and costs about the same as a trailer hitch plus... view full answer...
I would recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 3113-1, for your 2003 Pontiac Vibe front wheel drive with manual transmission. Front wheel drive automatic transmission Vibes must be towed on a tow dolly and all wheel drive vibes must be towed on a trailer.
Along with the base plate kit I would recommend a towbar that installs in the receiver on your motorhome. The RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - 6,000 lbs, item # RM-520 would be a good choice and along with this you will need... view full answer...
I checked the online owner's manual for the 2005 Pontiac Vibe on the GM website and it shows that the front-wheel-drive with manual transaxle CAN be flat towed without need for a transmission lube pump and it can also be towed using a dolly like # RM-2050-1. However, the all-wheel-drive version cannot be flat towed, nor can it be towed with two wheels up on a tow dolly.
The basic parts of a flat towing setup include the tow bar, lighting kit and braking system you mentioned, as well as... view full answer...
When using a weight distribution system on a trailer the weight on the axles will stay the same. The tongue weight of the trailer will be distributed from being basically all on the rear axle of the tow vehicle to being also on the front axle of the tow vehicle.
Weight distribution systems are recommended when the trailer of the vehicle weighs more than 50 percent of the tow vehicle.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of... view full answer...
It sounds like you are asking the purpose of the "feet" of the Inno roof rack that fits your 2010 Pontiac Vibe. What the feet do is act as a base for the crossbars, and an attachment point for the fit kit. So what you will do is attach the fit kit to the feet, with the fit kit being what allows the rack to clamp to your door sills; then the crossbars will attach to the feet.
Essentially, the feet of a roof rack act as something of an anchor for the crossbars so you can mount them. The... view full answer...
Your Pontiac Vibe GT can be equipped with either a Class I or Class II type 1-1/4-inch hitch. Since you want to use your Kuat NV 2-inch hitch bike rack # NV22G you will want to use the higher-capacity Class II hitch # C12221 from Curt. You will also need a hitch adapter to allow the 2-inch Kuat rack to be installed in the 1-1/4-inch hitch.
You can use Brophy adapter # HT5R. This will fit into the class II hitch and provide a 2-inch receiver opening for the Kuat rack. This adapter features... view full answer...
The RockyMounts HighNoon FC Solo # RKY87RR can be used to secure a bike with a flat front tire. You'd tighten the arm of the rack down which will tighten through the tire to the rim and give you a secure way to hold your bike. I found a few people online who did this on more than a few occasions and were perfectly fine. view full answer...
You can add larger wheels to a trailer as long as you have the same bolt pattern and enough room for the larger size. The main clearance issues we find when putting larger wheels on a trailer is from the top of the tire to the fender and from the inside wall of the tire to the trailer wall/frame.
Also you will want to keep the weight capacity in mind. Larger tires will typically have a higher weight rating. Tires with a higher weight rating will not increase the load carrying capacity... view full answer...
