Hey Jean, so it really depends on the rating of your current transfer switch if you should replace it with the part # PD64FR at same time as when you install the converter part # PD9280A.
The new converter is rated for up to 1,300 watts so your current transfer switch would need to be rated for at least that to get full advantage of the new converter. If not, then it would be a good idea also go with the new switch part # PD64FR which is rated for 2,000 watts. view full answer...
Hey Jean, so in the install instructions for the Progressive Dynamics converter part # PD9280A the wiring requirements are pretty interesting. For the chassis ground wire they recommend between 6 and 12 AWG.
From battery ground to converter negative they recommend between 2 and 14 AWG, and the same for the battery positive and positive lug of the converter.
So if you have the minimum thickness wire already you do not need to change anything. view full answer...
