You are right that there is a small trim panel underneath your 2019 Mazda CX-9 that does need to be removed when installing either the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76020 or Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13284. Doing this is not difficult at all and only requires a flat head screwdriver and 10mm socket.
All that is required is popping off the two plastic fasteners using the flat head screwdriver and then using the 10mm socket to twist off a couple of hex nuts; the trim panel does... view full answer...
The hands-free lift gate feature on your 2020 Mazda CX-9 will still be functional if you install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76020. You may need to kick using a back and forth motion though instead of just waving your foot left to right for the sensors to pick up the motion.
Attached is an installation video of this trailer hitch on a 2019 CX-9 that you can check out.
If you let me know what you plan on using your trailer hitch for I can make some additional recommendations... view full answer...
The fit kit # TH67KE does not actually screw into your flush rails on your 2021 Mazda CX-9 although it does look like it.
The bolts for the fit kit will act more like set screws and will hold the feet tight to your flush bars. view full answer...
Using the 12 volt power outlet certainly would make the installation of trailer wiring harness # 56016 easier on your 2011 Mazda CX-9. But there are several reasons why it should not be installed using that outlet.
The reasons are that doing so will void the wiring harness warranty because it is not tested or designed for that type of installation. The circuit for a power outlet could be overloaded by the draw of a trailer wiring harness. And if attached to a power outlet you lose that... view full answer...
The Inno square bar roof rack you referenced is intended for the CX-9 that has a bare roof wth no rails or crossbars on it. The complete rack does consist of three parts: # INB127, # INXP and # INTR124. These are the bars, the feet and the vehicle-specific fit kit, respectively. I verified with Inno that all of these parts are required for installing the rack on your CX-9. view full answer...
I have a solution for you below, but you could go to a local garage and see what they say, more than likely they will not allow it because of liability reasons. The might offer to install it for you at a price.
We do offer car service ramps like the Race Ramps # RR-XT-2 or the more economical for occasional use the FloTool # FT11912MI.
Your 2011 Mazda CX-9 weighs up to 4,546lbs so you will want to keep this in mind while looking at ramps capacities. Both ramps will work for helping... view full answer...
Lowering exhaust to install a hitch is a pretty standard install step. It's not too hard to do in most cases. It just requires you to pry the exhaust hangers off of the vehicles so that it can be lowered.
Our installers routinely use a ratchet strap to provide support to the exhaust once it is removed from the exhaust hangers. The purpose of the strap is to control the descent of the exhaust so it does not fall too rapidly and damage something. The exhaust hangers are very easy to remove,... view full answer...
Since you've got a few questions in here, in order to make sure everything is addressed clearly I'm going to list the answers to each of your numbered questions below.
1) You can test the wires using a Circuit Tester kit like # PTW2993 to determine which is the cold wire. Since auto manufacturers don't have a standard color they all use, it's tough to determine what is what on some manufacturers. The only way to truly know which wire is which on your vehicle is to test for power when the... view full answer...
According to Draw-Tite, once the # 76020 hitch is installed it won't completely prevent the sensors from picking up movement. It'll block the sensors in the middle of the vehicle by the receiver tube, but the sensors on either side will still work as shown in the provided photo.
If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118278, a ball mount like # 2753 used in the rise position, a # PC3 hitch pin and # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch... view full answer...
I have attached a link to an installation video on a 2012 Mazda CX-9 like you own. When all of the access to the tail lights is done in the rear cargo area, it can be difficult to find a place that allows you to run the 4-way connector on the T-One Harness, part # 118520. As they show in the video, when the T-one harness is not being used, you can just roll it up and stow it out of the way in your rear cargo area. This protects it from being damaged and also from corrosion.
If you choose... view full answer...
You will still be able to use the hands free lift gate feature on your 2021 Mazda CX-9 with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13284 installed, but you will need to put your foot on either side of the receiver and move it in and out until you find the sweet spot of the sensor.
After doing this a few times it will become second nature on where to place your foot.
I included a video of the # C13284 being installed for you to take a look at. view full answer...
I spoke to Rhino Rack about using the Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points part # RRRVP51 on a 2019 Mazda CX-9 and they stated you must use the forward and middle mounting points. The last mounting point is only used when there are three crossbars. The crossbar spread if using the first and last mounting point would be too large for most accessories. view full answer...
The Yakima # Y02634 FullBack would be a great choice for your 2019 Mazda CX-9, the rack can accommodate 2 bikes weighing up to 35 lbs apiece. The rack features anti sway cradles that hold the bikes tightly and prevent them from swinging back and forth and hitting each other or the vehicle. The feet of the rack are heavily padded to help prevent scratching the vehicle's finish.
The rear hatch or truck should NEVER be opened with this or any other trunk bike rack attached. The struts that... view full answer...
Sliding a kayak across the rubber pads on the Lockrack # LR24VR really won't be much different than normal crossbars/kayak carriers, though I recommend picking up some silicone spray from a local home improvement store and keeping the rubber coated in that every couple of months. This will make loading the kayak even easier than with most kayak carriers, making it a lot easier on your back.
This will work perfectly on the lower level of your Yakima EasyRider # Y08129. view full answer...
To complete the installation of T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118520, there is normally a grommet located close to the installation point that can be used, it is normally at the bottom of trunk cargo area. You would want to cut a small slit in the grommet, feed the wire through and seal the cut you made in grommet with silicone. We do not have specific information for your vehicle as to the location of the grommet. If you find it easier you could run the wire through the interior... view full answer...
Yes, you will need to run the power wire from the Curt Custom Fit Wiring Harness # 56016 to your battery. The connections to your tail light wiring harness are very much plug and play as they will just connect in line with your tail light connectors.
The reason you need to run the power wire to the battery is because the # 56016 uses your tail light circuits as signal wires and actually powers the tail lights of your trailer with the power it draws from the battery of your 2012 Mazda... view full answer...
The Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points part # RRRVP51 comes with two crossbars, one for the front and one for the rear. The crossbars are not the same so it dose matter which goes where. I wasn't able to find any refence to this based on height but if you measure each, one should be 39-1/2" long and the other should be just under 41-1/2" long. The longer bar will be installed in front. view full answer...
To return the Thule Apex XT 4 Bike Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches # TH9025XT back to the upright position, you will need to remove the M6 bolt, lift the handle, and pull the rack upright.
Once the rack is upright, replace the M6 bolt and re-tighten. It is not going to be possible to move the rack upright if the bolts are still in, so you will need to remove those. view full answer...
If the trailer hitch of your 2012 Mazda CX-9 has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity, it means that no more than 400 lbs can be safely suspended from the receiver. The weight of the carrier # e98874 is included in that 400 lb figure. Only if the carrier is used with an extender like part # HES6, the tongue weight capacity of the hitch would be reduced by 50 percent.
You also need to pay attention to the amount of tongue weight your CX-9 is rated for. it may be less than the hitch and you're... view full answer...
