Yes, due the the unique design of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent # MA00-07500K it can be left open while travelling. If you don't have the fan running while it's open the powered lift will close so if you plan on just having it open to vent you'll want to leave it off and manually open the vent before hauling your trailer. view full answer...
We have not seen a 2011 GMC Sierra that will have a factory brake controller plug-in for an aftermarket brake controller. All of the 2007 and newer GM full size trucks and SUVs quit offering a plug-in type connection. None of the brake controller harness manufacturers produce a plug and play wiring harness that will fit a 2011 GMC.
The plug you are referring to is probably not for the brake controller. If you need to find out what the plug is for you can use a circuit tester, part # PTW2993,... view full answer...

The Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger, # PD4560K18LS8 has a location for a chassis ground, To do so, simply use a ring terminal, such as, # DW05702-1, and attached this to a length of wire. Then drill a pilot hole in the frame of the trailer and making sure that the surface area around the hole is clean and free of any solvents, grease, or dirt and has an area of paint removed to show bare metal, fasten the ring terminal with a self... view full answer...
The brake controller install harness you have of 3015-P is the correct one to install a Prodigy P3 brake controller part # 90195 but there are a few connections under the hood of the truck that need to be made for the controller to be active. So you'd want to move the black wire back to the pin it was in originally and then follow the install video and help article link I attached that shows the underhood connections and you'd be on your way! view full answer...
To install the hitch in the bed of your short bed 2008 GMC Sierra, you will need a fifth wheel installation kit like part # RP50064-58. The kit includes the frame brackets, base rails and hardware. Unfortunately Valley has gone out of business, so frame brackets are not available to install your base rails. Also, fifth wheel hitch manufacturers do not recommend mixing brands with base rails and frame brackets.
The placement of the bed rails is shown in the installation instructions, which... view full answer...
First, if there are posted speed limits, make sure to obey those. We usually recommend traveling no more than 30 to 40 miles per hour with chains installed. The faster you travel the more wear you can put on the chains in addition to a higher chance of losing traction. Pewag and Glacier suggest an even more modest pace of 25 miles an hour or so.
I have included a link to our tire chain FAQ article for you with additional information on the use of chains. Be sure to consult your owners... view full answer...
When installing the Hopkins Trailer Breakaway Kit # 20011, the black, red and blue wire are attached with the following procedure.
The black wire is connected to the black wire in the battery box on the trailer. The red wire is hooked to the positive post (by itself) of the battery on the trailer and the blue wire is spliced to the blue wire from the breakaway switch.
I have attached a FAQ article covering breakaway kit installations as well as a brief installation video.

The CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors # CM10800 that you recently installed on your Sierra feature a basic floating design that allows for manual adjustment.
I spoke with my contact at CIPA to see if he could provide any tips for this process. He did state that the mirrors are constructed to be free of vibration when driving, so the relatively extensive pressure you are needing to apply to them in order to adjust the mirror is perfectly normal and actually by design. He just recommended applying... view full answer...
The Derale # D13503 8000 has two 11/32 inch hose barb fittings. It does not matter which is used for the input and which is used for the output. Also, the cooler can be installed with the fittings point up, down or to the sides-whichever fits best. There's enough pressure in the system to push the fluid through the cooler with no problem.
I've linked you to some help articles about transmission cooler. view full answer...

It does not matter which so long as you have the tow bar on the lowermost receiver tube and the bike rack on the uppermost receiver tube.

The correct adapter for your 2003 GMC Sierra is in fact the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3015-P. This will allow you to plug the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90885 directly into it and have a functioning brake controller.
Check out the video that I linked for you. This will show exactly where to plug in your pigtail and will give you a good mounting position option as well. view full answer...
The 2-1/2" Long Torx Trailer Floor and Wall Liner Screw # TFX250ACQ could be used to secure e track wheel chock like the part # EM09160 but it would not be your most ideal solution since this is designed to secure wood to metal. You are wanting to secure metal to wood so using carriage bolts, nuts, and washers will give you the most ideal and secure way to attach the # EM09160. view full answer...
You will definitely still be able to use the power folding feature on the stock mirrors of your 2004 GMC Sierra when you are using the K-Source Snap & Zap Custom Towing Mirrors # KS80800.
There won't be any interference with that option, as the towing mirrors will just snap on to the backside of your stock mirrors and allow them to otherwise retain their full functionality. view full answer...

When adding CIPA Custom Towing Mirror, # 10801, and # 10802 to your 1999 GMC Sierra, they will essentially work as if your factory mirror was 6 inches longer. When you combine the added length with the adjustability of the glass you should be able to see down the side of the trailer to make changing lanes safer. I have included a link to a video that may help illustrate the effectiveness of the mirrors.
These mirrors will also fit full plastic mirrors and mirrors with turn signals that... view full answer...
Thank you for all of the details! Since your 2009 GMC Sierra has the factory integrated brake controller you need to run your own 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1 from the blue wire on the Prodigy P3 # 90195 back to the brake output pin on your truck 7-Way socket. This is because you have to essentially bypass the wiring for the OEM controller. I recommend using heat shrink butt connectors # DW05745-5 to make your connections.
We actually have a helpful article written about this procedure that... view full answer...
Your 2012 GMC Sierra is not equipped with a factory brake controller port for a simple plug-in installation, but all the necessary wires are indeed already run to beneath the dash so that it is just a matter of connecting the 4 wires from the brake controller to the factory wires on the truck.
These wires should be on the driver's side in front of the fuse panel to the left of the brake pedal. They will likely be taped to other wiring and you will just need to pull them free. There should... view full answer...
You would have to pry apart the barrel clips to get them off of the pegs on the bottom of step pad # 23-0001. You should be able to reuse them though as long as they are not permanently damaged in the process. Barrel clips # 23-0002 will fit the pad you ordered should you need to replace one.
Since the pegs broke off in the clips you would have to try to pull them out with needle nose pliers. Otherwise drilling would probably be the best option. But take it slow so as not to damage the... view full answer...
