Video Transcript for Review of Drive Wireless Speakers - Portable Bluetooth Speaker - DR65FR

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this portable Bluetooth speaker. This speaker is going to play your audio from your music podcasts or whatever you want to listen to while you're out away from power. This is going to connect to your phone or other device via Bluetooth, and to play your music and other audio for you. And it is a pretty compact size. You can see, it's right about 8 1/4 of an inch long by approximately four inches tall, and about 3 13/16 of an inch in diameter.

It only weighs about two pounds, so it is very easy to pack along with you, and take out to the campsite and that sort of thing. Now, this will last for up to 10 hours, so you'll have plenty of time outdoors away from your power to enjoy your music. On the backside here, we do have four LEDs that are going to indicate your battery setting or your capacity. So, you can see we've got two lit up currently, that means we're about 50% capacity there. And next to those LEDs, you have your main on/off switch.

So if you're gonna be putting your speaker away for a while, not gonna be using it, they do recommend switching that to off. And then you've got your micro USB charging port there. They do include this approximately foot and a half long cable that you can plug that into a USB charger or they also include this charging station and that will hard-wire in and then you can just simply slide this in place like so. Once it's connected to power, that's going to charge up your speaker and you can simply slide it back off when you're ready to go again. They do have two USB ports on that charging station.

These are going to be less than 500 milliamp ports so you want to charge up your other devices. They just don't recommend that you charge anything else while you're charging your speaker, but you still have that option there for when your speaker is off being used. You can charge up other devices there. This does connect to your Bluetooth devices from up to 32 feet away, so you'll have plenty of range to leave your speaker in one place and still go out and mingle at the party and that sort of thing while you're playing it from your phone. This is a water-resistant construction, so it is gonna be very durable and rugged.

It can be used indoor and outdoor. It's obviously got a black color to it and it's got a frequency range from 80 hertz up to 20 kilohertz. So it's hard for me to give you a accurate demonstration of the sound quality for this because my microphone doesn't pick it up quite like the human ear does. But I have played a wide variety of music on this and I've been pretty impressed with the quality of it. I think with the volume at the loudest setting, full blast, it is sufficiently loud. It's not enough to feel it in your chest but it is enough for you to probably not want to sit next to it for any long period of time. You're definitely not gonna want to be right next to it having a conversation. It is sufficiently loud and also turned it down to the lowest volume setting and it did really well there as well. You kind of lose the base end of it but you still hear that treble. You still enjoy your music. If it's in a quiet environment you can listen to it very softly. I would think this is gonna be a great option for sitting around a campfire, having a party at a campsite, that sort of thing. It's probably not gonna be loud enough to cut through the wind noise or motor noise if you're out on an ATV or something along those lines but if you are just gonna be sitting around in a chill environment I think this is gonna do a really good job for you. Couple of basic features that I haven't gone over yet. You can see up here at the top, we are going to have our power button that's going to turn the unit on and off and also control your device so you can pause and start your music again. You've got your volume settings here and then next song and previous song settings that will work with your phone or other Bluetooth device so that you can skip ahead if you're not digging the tune that's currently on. So very convenient little speaker here that's gonna do a good job of projecting that music so you can enjoy your time away from power. That completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
