Adam: Hi, everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the UWS Truck bed Toolbox on our 2019 Ram 1500. So this is going to be a great addition to your truck. And it's going to be able to allow you to take all that clutter out of your cab, like tools and such, and you can lock them in here. You can just unlock it like so.

It's going to be a great place to store some straps, maybe some tools, and of course, since winter's coming, you get a jump box just in case you got a dead battery. There is a lot of space in here, and you're going to be able to use the whole contents of your truck floor as well. And it does come with a nice divider that is going to be sliding across these rails here. So you're going to have two levels of space and storage.So we will have a lot of options with our toolboxes on this bed. The one you see here, it spans about 69 inches long.

And as you can see, it doesn't really overhang on our rails. But we do have a 72 inch one as well, and that's going to hang over a little bit, not a whole lot, but if you like that look a little bit better, you can go ahead and do that. It's going to be the same exact shape with all the same exact features. And both of them have three different color combinations. We have the bright aluminum, we have a matte black and a gloss black as well.

So whatever one you think is going to look best on your truck, go ahead and go on etrailer.com and pick it.So this is going to be a lockable toolbox. So you can be rest assured that whenever you're out and about, nothing inside the contents of your toolbox is going to get messed with. And the keys do come with the kit. And the cool thing about this is we don't have to hit both at the same time. Let's just say, you're on the side of your truck.

You can just hit this one and it'll open up. And we do have these hydraulic arms, so it'll stay up and open. And they do have a nice foam seal, so it's going to protect all the contents of your toolbox from any of the elements.So on both sides, we are going to have some holes here. And I mean, I was thinking of what I would use them for. If I was having some ratchet straps, I would just hook them into this hole here, just so they're not sliding around when I'm taking turns or anything like that. I think it will be a good way to keep these ratchet straps organized and we all know how hard that can be sometimes.Another thing that I noticed about these toolboxes is this lid is extremely thick. So you don't have to worry about if you're just sitting around, sitting on your toolbox, or if someone decides just to stand on it, you don't have to worry about this denting in and looking a little ruggish and worn out. It's definitely going to hold up and it's definitely a pretty thick plate.All in all I'm definitely a fan of this toolbox. I really would be pretty confident that none of my stuff inside my box would get messed with or anything like that. Yes, we do have keys, but if someone came in here with a grinder, it would take quite an amount of effort to get into this thing. So I would definitely recommend it. And all three colors look good on the truck as well.Another cool thing, we still have all the contents underneath of our box here, so we can still use it to maybe haul some lumber around and we're not losing a little bit of space in our bed. So whether you're buying this toolbox for the functionality of it, or just because it looks good, it's definitely going to get the job done. And one of the better things about this toolbox is it's a drill free installation. You don't have to drill into your brand new truck, or even just that old truck that you love. It's going to be really easy as well. So let's just go ahead and do it together.So once you get your box out of the box, you can just go ahead and place it down on your bed, towards the cab. It isn't too heavy. So you might not have to ask for an extra set of hands. We're going to push it all the way to the back and then make sure it's nice and even on both sides. We are going to have to install these strips. They just have an adhesive side and they come with it and you can place them wherever you think is going to be best for your truck bed.Now we can just go ahead and open up our toolbox and we will have a little baggy in here with our mounting hardware. It really is just a hook, a washer and a nut for each side. Very, very easy. So basically our goal is to get it to suck into the side of our rails. We're going to fit it underneath here and get it in that slot in our toolbox. Then we're just going to put down our washer and our nut. I'm going to go ahead and hand tighten these on both sides and then come back with a socket and tighten it down all the way. We did tighten that down with a 13 millimeter socket, and you might need to get an extension and a deep well socket to get that tightened down.
