This padded rack lets you carry 7 bikes on your truck bed tailgate. It's a great alternative to fork blocks, it doesn't require drilling into your truck bed, and you don't have to remove your bikes' front wheels.

Specs:
The Paramount padded tailgate bike rack is a quick and easy alternative to fork blocks. It saves you from having to remove the front wheels on your bikes and from drilling into your truck bed. And if you normally use a hitch rack, but will be using your hitch to tow, this rack lets you bring up to 7 bikes as well. Spacing blocks prevent bike-to-bike contact, hook-and-loop straps secure your bikes to the rack, and the center flap provides access to your tailgate handle.
There are 8 spacing blocks along the outer side of the rack. These blocks provide stabilization for your fork stanchions to prevent bike-to-bike contact. To set up your bikes, just stagger the front wheels over the tailgate hanging outside of the truck and place the fork stanchions between the blocks.
A series of sewn-on loops along the top of the rack provide anchor points for your bikes. Use the included hook-and-loop straps to secure your bikes to the tie-down points to prevent your bikes from shifting during transport. Additional straps (sold separately) are available if you lose one.
Easy Access to Tailgate Handle
The center flap lets you access your tailgate handle without having to remove the pad so you can lower your tailgate. The flap secures with a hook-and-loop fastener.
Mesh Pockets
There are 2 sewn-in mesh pockets that let you conveniently store your biking gear. They're great for storing helmets, gloves, and wet or sweaty clothes that you don't want inside your truck.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The rack is made of heavy-duty, ballistic tarpaulin. A high-density foam core protects your tailgate and your bikes from dents and dings. The fleece lining provides a soft, smooth surface that won't scratch or scuff your tailgate.
Simple Installation
To install the rack just slide it over your tailgate and use the 3 integrated tie-down straps wrap to secure it in place.

Hi everyone. It's Evangeline, here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at the Swagman Paramount Tailgate Pad for multiple bikes, right here on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. So if you're looking to carry around a lot of bikes, you have some options. You can get a hitch rack. Although you are limited to the number of bikes you can carry with that.
You can put them in your truck bed using fork mounts or items that you drill into the truck bed. The downside to those is you damage your truck bed or make permanent changes. So good, easy option for you could be the tailgate pad just like this. This allows you to carry up to seven bikes on your tailgate in a safer way than throwing them into your bed. A quick comparison between this and the other Swagman Tailgate Pad, which is the Tailwhip is that this is gonna be your slightly more premium option.
We have stabilizing blocks as well as the capacity for more bikes. So we'll talk about the feature of this specific pad and focus on our Toyota Tundra though. That way you can see what is the better fit for you, your different types of bikes and your truck. So look at the way our bike is mounted here. So we have it with..
we have hook and loop straps, that's securing our bike. Notice how much movement we have. Which is not much at all. Very helpful once you get up to seven bikes on there. With all of our touch points with our truck, everything is resting on the tailgate pad itself.
That means we're not scratching up our truck. Swagman improved their design here with these stabilizing blocks. So notice how it stabilizes our bike, separates it from other bikes, creating a good solid and sturdy surface, making it easier to carry more. The outside is made of a tarpaulin material, which means that helps prevent sun damage and feeding. We also have this high density foam on the inside. So that's with your stabilizing blocks as well as the pad itself. So because of that, no matter how much movement there is from your bikes, it cushions that and does not transfer it to your truck. So take your bike off. We're gonna start over here with our hook and loop straps. So we saw how it moves with this all secured. With it now off, notice how much more movement we have here back and forth. And if you are carrying around multiple bikes, the perks to that is you're gonna have multiple people to help you take this off of your truck safely. With the bike off, you get to take a closer look at the tailgate pad itself. So in the back we have these mesh pouches, perfect spots to put all your helmets in by gear as you drive around. Over here on the outside of our truck bed, you might notice that it has a buckle here. If you undo that buckle, you actually reveal your handle as well as your backup camera. So with this up, this allows you to open, or I guess lower your tailgate and get access into your truck bed real quick. If you wanna keep it in this position, you can use the buckle on the other side to secure it. Underneath that flap, you can see how we have this really soft material. Which is good because that's gonna be what's making contact with your tailgate. So that soft material is on the entire side of tailgate pad that makes contact with your tailgate. So from this end to this end, you change material only on the other side towards your truck bed. Let's take some quick measurements here on our Tundra. So the tailgate pad itself is 61 inches long, but how does it work inside of our truck bed. We'll notice how have those different straps for those different bikes. The distance from one strap to the end of our truck bed is gonna be about 10 inches away. So that's how much space you have for your bike if it's gonna be fully loaded. The actual size, or I guess length of all the straps is gonna be 43 and a half inches total. We definitely see an opening here large enough to be able to utilize our tailgate, which is great because our backup camera is right over there. So if you back up with your truck, you'll still have that full visibility behind you. So my personal thoughts about this tailgate pad is great if you have a lot of bikes. For your more premium bikes though, I do recommend trying to get a hitch mounted bike rack just to make sure they're nice and secure with those. But this is definitely a step up from just dumping them into your truck bed and letting them slide around. Now, this is gonna be your more premium option when it comes to those tailgate pads because you have the stabilizing blocks, you also these pouches for storage, and you have that nice felt material. Something I do recommend adding on to your list though, is possibly extra hook and loop straps or even cam buckle straps for your front wheels if you notice they move around a lot. But other than that, this is pretty much all you need to carry around multiple bikes safely and securely. While a roof mounted or hitch mounted bike rack is gonna be better in terms of stability and security, you can't store them as easily as you can store this tailgate pad. And it's also super quick to throw this onto your tailgate and quick to take it off. So let's take a look at that. So we have three buckles here. So you're just gonna loosen one, two and three buckles. So you can see how their straps look like on underneath our pad. They run around our tailgate and once they're released, you can then just take this off of your tailgate, lower it, take that pad off, and just like that your truck bed is back to normal. And you can see how this is really easy to fold up and store inside of your garage ready to use when you're ready to go. And that was a look at our Swagman Paramount Tailgate Pad for your bikes, right here on our 2022 Toyota Tundra..

This padded rack lets you carry 7 bikes on your truck bed tailgate. It's a great alternative to fork blocks, it doesn't require drilling into your truck bed, and you don't have to remove your bikes' front wheels.I've been using this for a couple of years now. I mainly use it when we go camping. It's been great for carrying the 4 bikes we have. The bikes never have shifted/moved while in transit. The tailgate pad is a little tricky to put on (I lay under the truck and fish the strap up to my son). I've installed the mat by myself but it's way easier with 2 people.
It has been great for 5 or 6 bikes, easy to put on. A little tight and depending on the type of bike it won't line up in the designated spot but I can still velcro the bikes to keep them secure. Would definitely recommend the Swagman. It can be put on with one person but 2 is easier, one in the bed and one threading it through. The same is true for loading/unloading bikes, one in the bed of the truck and one handing the bikes up. I have definitely done it by myself so we're loaded and ready to go camping when the boys get home from school.
Really like this bike rack for my truck. Easy to put on. Handles the Mtb bikes well.
Well made, but you need to do something about the 3 straps...and how you can push a wet noodle up through the gap. Gonna have to put a sting down, and attach it to each stap to pull them up.
