Specs:
The Paramount padded tailgate bike rack is a quick and easy alternative to fork blocks. It saves you from having to remove the front wheels on your bikes and from drilling into your truck bed. And if you normally use a hitch rack, but will be using your hitch to tow, this rack lets you bring up to 7 bikes as well. Spacing blocks prevent bike-to-bike contact, hook-and-loop straps secure your bikes to the rack, and the center flap provides access to your tailgate handle.
There are 8 spacing blocks along the outer side of the rack. These blocks provide stabilization for your fork stanchions to prevent bike-to-bike contact. To set up your bikes, just stagger the front wheels over the tailgate hanging outside of the truck and place the fork stanchions between the blocks.
A series of sewn-on loops along the top of the rack provide anchor points for your bikes. Use the included hook-and-loop straps to secure your bikes to the tie-down points to prevent your bikes from shifting during transport. Additional straps (sold separately) are available if you lose one.
Easy Access to Tailgate Handle
The center flap lets you access your tailgate handle without having to remove the pad so you can lower your tailgate. The flap secures with a hook-and-loop fastener.
Mesh Pockets
There are 2 sewn-in mesh pockets that let you conveniently store your biking gear. They're great for storing helmets, gloves, and wet or sweaty clothes that you don't want inside your truck.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The rack is made of heavy-duty, ballistic tarpaulin. A high-density foam core protects your tailgate and your bikes from dents and dings. The fleece lining provides a soft, smooth surface that won't scratch or scuff your tailgate.
Simple Installation
To install the rack just slide it over your tailgate and use the 3 integrated tie-down straps wrap to secure it in place.

Hi, Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Swagman Paramount Tailgate Pad on the back of our 2023 Ford F-150. Let's take a closer look at it. Now this is gonna be a great option for you if you have a family, or if you're planning on carrying a lot of bikes 'cause you're riding with a lot of people. Now this is gonna be a better option, as opposed to just throwing in your bikes willy-nilly in the back of your bed. This is a much more efficient way to load up your bikes. We're gonna have one main point that secures it down and that's gonna be this hook and loop system that straps around the frame.
So since we are attaching to the frame like this, I wouldn't recommend any carbon frame bikes because you could scratch that up. But a lot of alternative frame bikes will still work with this. On the front of your bike with the forks, you're just gonna rest in the front of the pad, and that's gonna have these padded areas for more cushion. So when you are going down those bumpy roads, even if it's bumping around, it's not gonna damage the back of your truck. And the back of your bike is gonna sit in your bed, and that tire is gonna rest in here.
And what I really like about a lot of these beds are their serrated surfaces. So what I like to do is just rest that tire in between those areas for a more secure ride. I'm just gonna take off my bike. It's pretty straightforward. That hook and loop system that we have here at the top I'm just gonna undo.
And once that's completely off, I'm just gonna lift up on my bike. That's what I was talking about, why getting a heavy e-bike might be a little bit difficult for a tailgate pad like this. So look at this flap, and the way that's gonna unsecure, you're just gonna need this clip at the bottom. And when you flip it up, you'll notice we have access to our backup camera and our handle for our tailgate. Another thing I'd like to note too, we're gonna have this nice felt material so you don't have to worry about scratching anything up.
And now that we have access to our tailgate, we can lower it down and take a closer look at the backside. You'll notice we're gonna have three straps I grab from behind, and this is what's gonna secure it down and tighten it to your tailgate. If you don't plan on securing a bike from the center, you can actually take this flat and attach it to this other side of the clip to secure it down so you can always use your backup camera. We're gonna have these two mesh bags, and what that's gonna be used for is if you have any additional gear, whether that be any shoes, water bottles, or gloves. Overall, this is gonna be a solid pick for you if you plan on hauling a lot of bikes. This will be a much better option, as opposed to a lot of hitch options because even if you were able to find a hitch option that could hold close to seven bikes, that's gonna add a lot of distance to the back of your truck. So this is gonna be a great option for you if you are looking at hauling a lot of bikes. But if you liked everything you saw today, that's just a look at the Swagman Paramount Tailgate Pad on the back of our 2023 Ford F-150.

This padded rack lets you carry 7 bikes on your truck bed tailgate. It's a great alternative to fork blocks, it doesn't require drilling into your truck bed, and you don't have to remove your bikes' front wheels.I've been using this for a couple of years now. I mainly use it when we go camping. It's been great for carrying the 4 bikes we have. The bikes never have shifted/moved while in transit. The tailgate pad is a little tricky to put on (I lay under the truck and fish the strap up to my son). I've installed the mat by myself but it's way easier with 2 people.
It has been great for 5 or 6 bikes, easy to put on. A little tight and depending on the type of bike it won't line up in the designated spot but I can still velcro the bikes to keep them secure. Would definitely recommend the Swagman. It can be put on with one person but 2 is easier, one in the bed and one threading it through. The same is true for loading/unloading bikes, one in the bed of the truck and one handing the bikes up. I have definitely done it by myself so we're loaded and ready to go camping when the boys get home from school.
Really like this bike rack for my truck. Easy to put on. Handles the Mtb bikes well.
Well made, but you need to do something about the 3 straps...and how you can push a wet noodle up through the gap. Gonna have to put a sting down, and attach it to each stap to pull them up.
