Extremely quiet, aerodynamic crossbars attach to Yakima towers to create a stylish roof rack for your vehicle. Rubber strips in T-slots push down to load carriers or accessories - no need to trim. Full-length aluminum bars maximize carrying capacity.

Specs:
The quiet and aerodynamic Yakima JetStream crossbars let you build a custom roof rack for your vehicle. The crossbars require 4 Yakima BaseLine, RidgeLine, SkyLine, or TimberLine towers and a custom fit kit (sold separately) to mount the rack to your roof. Each bar extends past the towers to maximize space for mounting carriers and accessories. SmartFill strips push down for easy loading in the T-slots so there's no need to trim them. The bars are constructed of aluminum so they're durable and won't rust.
Aerodynamic JetFlow Design
The JetStream's asymmetrical JetFlow shape and built-in WindRidge helps to control air flow over and under the bar. This dramatically reduces wind noise and vibration - even at highway speeds - and eliminates the need to add a fairing to your roof rack. The aero-style bar also reduces drag to help maintain fuel efficiency.
Strong, Durable Construction
The JetStream crossbars are made of anodized aluminum with internal JetTruss extrusions. These extrusions strengthen the bars without significantly increasing their weight. Additionally, because the bars are aluminum and have a black powder coat finish, they won't rust or corrode so you can leave them on your roof year-round.
Hassle-Free Installation
Each JetStream crossbar has a bottom channel that allows you to mount it to any of the Yakima StreamLine towers - BaseLine, RidgeLine, SkyLine, or TimberLine. The rubber strip in the channel can be cut down to the exact size needed for installation and then re-installed in the channel. This helps keep dirt out of the bar and reduces wind noise.
Etched measurements along the bottom channel help you center the bar on your roof. Simply use the ruler on each end of the bar to ensure the towers are spaced properly in the channel.
Once you have the correct measurements, install the brackets in the bottom channel, set the bar on top of your towers, and tighten it in place with the torque tool (included with your towers).
Channel-Mounted and Clamp-On Accessories
JetStream crossbars have built-in top channels that allow you to carry channel-mounted accessories on your roof. Simply push down on the rubber SmartFill strips and slide your gear into the channel - no need to remove or cut the strip.
You can also attach most universal, clamp-on accessories and carriers to the bars.
Maximum Cargo Carrying Capacity
The JetStream is a full-length crossbar that extends past your Yakima towers. The increased length gives you more space to mount accessories and carriers to your roof rack.

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ram 1500 we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Yakima Roof Rack System. The Yakima Roof Rack System is a great solution for carrying your vehicle accessories on your roof, whether those are bike racks, ski and snowboard carriers, or kayak carriers. They also pair well with your ladder racks. This is going to consist of the Yakima JetStream Crossbars, part number: Y00427, the baseline towers, part number: Y00146, and the Fit Kit, part number: Y06135. Now keep in mind that our crossbars are also available in silver, with part number: Y00430.The aerodynamic shape of our crossbars is going to help reduce wind noise and drag, along with that weather strip on the inside. This can also be pushed down and we can add in channel-mounted accessories, unlike some other roof racks where you'll actually have to remove your weather strip.
The BaseLine tower of our Yakima crossbars does have the option to put in the same key system lock core. That's going to help prevent theft and tampering of your roof rack system as a whole. You'll also see our Fit Kit here. It's going to consist of our pads, as well as our clamp. Those will be custom cut to fit our vehicle, and have rubber padding on any portion that touches our vehicle to prevent any scratches or abrasions.
The Yakima roof rack system has a 165 pound weight capacity, but you do what to double check your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that much weight. It's also going to come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty, and be quick and easy to install. We'll show you how to do that now. Now, we already have our front crossbar installed. We're gonna show you how to install the back bar. We've got half of it together.
Everything on our table is what we will need to install our roof rack system. Here in the back, we're going to have our weather strip that goes underneath our crossbar. This can be cut down and placed in whenever we have our towers in place on the bar. We'll have our endcaps for our towers, as well as the other tower we're going to install, the pieces of our Fit Kit both the clamp and the pad, our tool to tighten everything down and we've provided our own flat tape measure, and we have our adapter pieces that are going to connect our tower to our crossbar, as well as our crossbar endcap. To start off, we can take the pad and place it onto the bottom of our tower. We're just going to squeeze it until it clicks into place.
Now, at the top we're going to place on our adapters. First the plastic, that will click into place. Then for our metal we're going to pull out on the gray door here. We can place the metal adapter in the center, and flip our tower over. We're going to have two bolts. We're going to loosen the one closest to the front of our tower. When we loosen that we can adjust it so that it connects to the metal bracket, and we can tighten it down until our bracket is flush at the top. Once that bracket is flush, we can place it onto our crossbar. Now we can slide this down on our crossbar until we're at the 46-1/4" mark on our bar. Once we have it in place we can tighten down that bolt. Now would be the time to take our weather strip and cut it down and place it into the empty slots to prevent any wind noise or drag. Lastly, before we load this up onto our vehicle, we'll place on our crossbar endcap. We can start off now by taking our crossbar, and we're going to place it on our roof. We'll now measure out our crossbar spread from the front of our front bar, to the front of the back. That's going to be 32". Again, we'll do the same thing to the other side. Next, we'll open up our vehicle doors, then we can open up the gray door here. We'll take our clamp underneath and make sure it secures to our bolts here. Then we can tighten up the bolt at the top and that's going to lower our clamp so that it sits just up against the door frame. Now we can do the same thing to the other side. Now we can tighten down our clamp by using our included tool, then tightening down the bolt that it is attached to. We want to make sure we tighten this down evenly on each side. Once we hear the clicks, that's when we know we have enough torque behind our bolts. We're going to close up the plastic door, then we can take the endcap and click it into place. Now we're ready to load up our accessories and hit the road. And that's going to be our completed look at the Yakima Roof Rack System on our 2018 Ram 1500.

Extremely quiet, aerodynamic crossbars attach to Yakima towers to create a stylish roof rack for your vehicle. Rubber strips in T-slots push down to load carriers or accessories - no need to trim. Full-length aluminum bars maximize carrying capacity. As usual, Yakima quality and design are unsurpassed. Easy to mount as well. I have not used them as much as I expected for two reasons. On my pickup they are way up there. Need a ladder to access them. Also, the carwash I use requires that they be removed. So, I leave them off for the most part.
Yakima Baseline with Yakima CBX 18 Cargo Box fitted on my 2012 Toyota Corolla S Sedan 2012.
Instructions were clear and roof rack was easily installed.
Super happy with my purchase from e trailers purchased yakima roof rack. Knowledgeable sales rep.Help me through the process on purchasing my roof rack Recommended to anyone quality parts
Not a bad setup. I dont believe you need the 60" bars i received as they hang over the edge of your Hyundai. You need to watch your head getting in and out of your vehicle. The Jetstream crossbars are very loud at speeds over 65 mph. Im probably used to it by now, but it is definitely noticeable. Much louder than an older Rhino Rack of similar dimensions i had. Install was simple and took about 30 minutes, just take your time and measure correctly like all roof racks.
For a 2015 Mazda 3, 4 door sedan.
I used the 50" jetstream bars with the skyline towers and the #22 Landing Pads.
Went together easy, great quality, very solid feeling! And, easy to remove and install when needed.
Love my Yakima roof rack!! It exceeds my expectations.great product. Also thank etrailer for the tec support! great staff always there to help thanks again!!
I chose Yakima because I had one in the past and they were always reliable. Thule was my next choice but didn’t like the look of 53’ crossbars on my car. I really appreciated the easy to follow instruction that made installation a breeze. The kit came complete with everything I needed to install right out of the box. I purchased the 2 Hightower bike racks to go with the roof rack system and plan to safely secure both bikes for our trips. It was a bit heavier than I anticipated (combined with the bike carriers) which will hurt my MPG but having easy access to disassemble the bike carriers when not in use made it a no brained. Additionally, I love the look of the system on my car.
The 50” jetstream cross bars were perfect for my 2019 Ford Ranger with my ARE cap. They are paired with the Yakima Skyline towers and appropriate landing pads (protip: call etrailer when you order to ensure you have the correct setup;)
These cross bars are SILENT on my cap. Zero wind noise. My daughter and I installed them on a Friday (I do recommend watching etrailer’s installation video in addition to the paper instructions) and left for a 700 mile weekend road trip the next day to pick up a kayak, paddle with friends downstate then drop her off at summer camp.
Even with empty Yakima Jaylows on top, no wind noise. Even with a boat in the Jaylows, no wind noise.
These are the sweetest rack’s I’ve had. With the Skyline towers and landing pads, they are also easy to take off and put on. Click click done.
They look good, too;)
etrailer customer service for the win, too. When I originally ordered, I did not order all the items I needed for installation. When I realized this, I called and they got me squared away.
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT which has the non-functional roof side bars. Etrailer.com helped me figure this out and gave me several options that would work. As I already have Yakima bike racks - I wanted to stick with the brand. The price on etrailer.com was the same as Yakima but had free shipping and no tax - awesome. Product arrived quickly!
I went with the Yakima 60" Jetstream cross bars, baseline towers, and the appropriate pads and clips.
The Yakima product came with thorough and easy to understand instructions. I was able to get the track installed and working in about an hour - and that was taking it slow and double checking everything. I was very pleased with the fit and finish.
After a test run, there was no wind noise or issue with the rack. Looking forward to taking a road trip next month with it!
The yakima jetstream crossbar looks beautiful. Quality is great. Took my vehicle for a test drive, and i didnt hear anything loose or broken from the bars. Very satisfied with the product and the instructions were great. It was my first time installing a roof rack too.
Product exactly as expected. Quality bars. Using on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. Looks great installed. Little to no wind noise. And, as usual, top notch service by the etrailer crew! Have purchased several items from etrailer over the past 10 years and have always been impressed by how timely they are and how responsive and helpful they have been regarding product questions. They are absolutely the first merchant I go to when shopping on line!
The Yakima rack system for my 2015 Ford Fusion is an awesome product! I hadn't needed to buy aftermarket racks in many years. These are a super solid, beefy, and very well made product. I am very impressed with the quality and fit. Yakima has obviously put lots of design time into them. And etrailer does an outstanding job of making sure you get the right product for your specific need.
I chose this rack specifically because of the spread between the bars - 32" - and for the higher weight limit, as I'm carrying a fishing kayak.
I recently purchased a rack system for my 1979 Ford Bronco to haul our new Kayaks. And believe me it was not easy to "fit" a vehicle as old as this.
I had some interesting challenges - my truck has a 3" lift and only clears my garage entrance by about 1.5 inches, so whatever I got had to be easily removable (at least in the front). I also wanted it to be multi functional so that I could carry other stuff as well, and the Yakima/Thule systems are great for that. Lastly, I wanted whatever I put on the truck to look good as I have put a lot of time and $ into fixing up this old truck and I didn't want it to look cheezey.....
Thanks to the good folks at etrailer I ended up with somewhat of a hybrid approach (my choice) but it worked out exactly as I envisioned it. I purchased the Thule Xsporter Pro system for the rear which works well with only minor modifications to the truck. I can lower it easily so I can get the truck into the garage without removing the system altogether. I really like that the tailgate is still functional with the system installed as some others I had in mind were bumper or hitch attached and would not allow use of the tailgate.... And, lastly it looks nice enough to just leave it on all the time.
On the front I chose the Yakima JetStream cross bar held up by a pair of Yakima SkyLine Towers and Landing Pads which I chose because I can easily remove the crossbar/towers to get the truck into my garage. The Landing Pads have covers for when not in use and are small enough to not be too noticeable.
I also added the security locks for peace of mind.
I have added 3 pictures, the first shows the Landing Pads without the towers & crossbar. You can also see the Xsporter Pro on the rear in its lowered position. The 2nd shot is a closeup of the Skyline Tower. The 3rd picture shows the entire system installed ready for my kayaks (or whatever).
Thanks again to the folks at etrailer for their expert advice and customer service.
Fit our Subaru Forester perfectly. Install was a breeze.
The JetStream crossbars are awesome. Unfortunately the box that these came ' in was damaged, and when I opened it both crossbars had scratches. It is only cosmetic, but when you pay top dollars for a good product you expect that it will be well packaged so is not damaged when shipped. If it wasn’t for the damaged packaging and scratches I would give it 5 starts.
The installation was super easy, and despite a long time stuck in shipping the delivery itself was extremely fast, and the package arrived in spotless condition. The manuals were very easy to follow, and the end result is absolutely amazing. I love that there's a rubber piece in the top rail that doesn't need to be cut, which makes it a very flush and smooth fit. I also love the modularity and the weight that it can handle, especially for the stuff i plan on carrying.
Lightweight and actually quite quiet with no attachments on them. With my bike racks there is a fair amount of noise but it doesn't come from just these. Mine is on a 2011 BMW 335.
Easy to order and quick to ship. Took a bit of time to get these installed correctly so they fit just right.
Great product - very good quality. I liked the fact that I could keep the risers mounted on my car, but could remove the cross bars. It took me awhile to install - but I'm not very mechanically inclined.
Good condition quality. Good and detailed instructions but aittle tedious install.
Very happy with our purchase. I love how easily you can remove the entire rack easily. Too bad the locking mechanism comes separately but we are still happy with what we received.
Super solid rack and the only one that fits the Jeep Cherokee without rails well and looks good too. Easy to install and worth the price
