Very simple installation and perfect fit on my Compass. Just snap the metal bracket onto the foot, put the hook at the desired location on your roof rail, and bolt it down. The hooks hold very securely when tightened. I especially like the little labels for front right, front left, etc so when you need to reinstall the rack, you don't have to figure out which rack is in front and which way it goes all over again.

    Thank you for the photo of the type of roof set-up you have on your 2008 Jeep Compass. You have what is often called a "flush side rail" type roof configuration. I checked with Thule to confirm the roof rack fits on your Compass. The AeroBlade Edge system you referenced, which is made of parts # TH7602B-TH7603B and # THKIT3067, is a confirmed fit. We simply have not had a local customer bring in a 2008 Compass for installation of this specific rack to allow us to shoot a video.

    The Rola Roof Cargo Carrier, part # TH859XT, requires a crossbar spread between 20 inches and 37 inches. The crossbar spread is the distance between the front crossbar and the rear crossbar on center. Since your 2007 Jeep Compass only came with the side rails, you will need crossbars to mount any roof cargo carrier. For a roof rack, I recommend looking at the Thule Wingbar, # TH711220, with the # TH460R feet and # THKIT3067 fit kit.
