Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the Replacement Side Mirror for the passenger side of your Jeep Cherokee. This is going to fit the 2004 through the current year model of your Jeep Cherokee. So if you had an accident where somebody cracked the side of your housing, maybe somebody clipped you on a narrow street, or you just cracked into a pylon or in a garage or something like that. Whatever has happened to break either the housing or the mirror face, this is going to give you a new mirror to replace that should look exactly like what you had before. No change to that outer appearance of your Cherokee.The nice thing about this is that there's no cutting, no drilling, no splicing to do to get this installed.

It's pretty straightforward. Just take the old mirror off, pop this new guy on there, and you're good to go.So let's talk a little bit more in detail of how that's going to work, give you some of the features of this particular mirror.So we'll have our wiring here on the side. This is just going to plug into your factory housing and give you those functionalities that you had before including the power functions so you can adjust that mirror face from inside your Cherokee and also gives you heated glass, the turn signal on the back here, as well as the puddle lamp at the bottom. Now, if you didn't already have those things or those functions in your Cherokee before, this isn't going to upgrade you. It's just going to give you what you already had.

You'd have to have that wiring already in your Cherokee to be able to utilize those functions if you didn't already have them, so just something to keep in mind there.Our glass is a OE grade convex glass, so that gives us that wider field of view, typical for the passenger side to eliminate any kind of blind spots. It does also have a breakaway design, so there's this little seam here. You can fold the mirror in against your vehicle to make it a little bit narrower so it reduces the chance that somebody is going to knock that mirror off on a narrow street or a one way or something like that.The housing is made of a durable plastic. You can pop this off and get it painted to match. It can be kind of hard to do that, so you'll probably end up almost being better to leave it on there and tape it up really well to paint over this.

Should make it pretty easy to match that up to your vehicle's paint.That's pretty much all there is to it. One last thing, this does not support the memory function or the blind spot detection system or the BSDS, so if you had those in your Cherokee before, this does not support those.
