Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX straight coupler fitting. Now this RV freshwater plumbing straight coupler is going to connect pipes and hoses in your RV freshwater plumbing system. Whether you're needing to repair leaky connections or install new lines, this is gonna work with your PEX pipes the old gray PV pipes and poly vinyl tubing. Now, as you can see here, on either end we have two three eighths of an inch barbed connections that are going to fit three eighths of an inch inner diameter hoses and tubes.
And the barbed connection with these compression nuts or compression ends means that you're not gonna need any tools for a tight, secure fit. So to install this, you're going to begin by sliding the compression nuts here over the end of your pipe, and then you're going to insert this barbed end into your pipe. Now, I do wanna let you know that this is probably gonna take a little bit of doing. You might have to rock it back and forth a little bit and apply quite a bit of pressure to get it to slide into place. But once that's in then you'll just bring this compression nut back towards the fitting and then begin tightening that down, threading it into place.
And then you're going to have a very secure connection. And this, of course you'll do the exact same for the other end as well. We have been very impressed at how secure the connection was on other flared fittings. So while you can install this by hand to get it tightened down if you ever need to remove the fitting it will take some effort to get that to come off because the connection is so secure. So you might need some tools to pull that fitting out of that pipe or that hose, maybe like a pair of vice grips or something like that.
Also, it might be a little difficult to install this fitting in a enclosed space like maybe up in a cabinet or something because of the pressure that you'll have to apply. So if possible it would be good to apply these fittings where you have some room to apply that pressure and then put your pipe into place. So again, once you have the connection secured you're not gonna have to worry about it. It's going to hold very tightly, very securely for you. The Polyoxymethylene construction is durable and it's gonna be resistant to stress cracking.
And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
