Video Transcript for Review of Flair-It RV Fresh Water - PEX T Connector Fitting - FL58VR

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at this Flair-It PEX Tee connector fitting. Now, this RV freshwater plumbing tee is going to connect pipes and hoses in your RV freshwater plumbing system, whether you're needing to repair leaky connections or install new lines. This is going to work with your PEX pipes, your old gray PB pipes, and polyvinyl tubing. Now, as you can see, this has three barbed connections, and all three of those connections are three eighths of an inch. And these barbed connections are of course going to fit three eights of an inch inner diameter hoses and tubes.

And the barbed connection with the compression ends here, or the compression nuts mean that (component swishing softly) you don't need any tools to get a nice, tight, secure, fit. So, to install this, you're going to first slide one of the compression nuts here over the pipe, or the hose that you're going to be installing this in, and then you're going to insert the barb end into your pipe. Now, that's going to take a little bit of doing, you might have to rock that connection back and forth while you're applying quite a bit of pressure to get that to slide into place. But once you have this fitting in that pipe or in that hose, then you're just going to bring this compression nut back over the pipe, and onto the fitting, and then thread it into place. And that's going to tighten it down.

So, you are going to do that with all of those barbed ends there to install this tee. And this connection is going to be very secure for you once you have these compression nuts tightened down. We have been very impressed at how secure the connections have been on other flare fittings. So while you can install this by hand to get it tightened down, if you ever have to remove this fitting, that is going to take some effort to get this disconnected, like but if you needed to pull it out of the pipe for whatever reason, you might need some tools to actually remove this from the pipes that you have this hooked up to, like a pair of vice grips, or something like that. Because once you have this installed, the connection, like I've mentioned, is going to be very secure, and you're not gonna have to worry about it once it's installed.

But if you ever have to remove it, just be aware that it could take some doing, and you might need some tools to remove the fitting. (component thudding softly) Now, another recommendation that I do wanna make is, if you can install these fittings from Flair-It, where you have some space, especially to apply pressure that would be better and easier for you than trying to install this fitting in an enclosed area, like a cabinet, or something like that. So, the more room that you have to apply the pressure with your hands and your fingers, the better and easier it's going to be for you. The polyoxymethylene construction is very durable. It's resistant to stress and cracking.

That's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
