Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Flare It PEX hose bib valve fitting. This hose bib valve is going to connect your hoses and tubes into your washing machine. So whether you're needing to repair a leaky connection or if you're installing new lines, this is gonna do a great job for you. This will work with your PEX pipes as well as the old gray PB pipes and poly vinyl tubing. We have the 3/4 inch MPT connection that's gonna fit hoses or tubes with the 3/4 inch FPT fittings.
And then on the other end here, we are gonna have a 1/2 inch barbed connection that's gonna fit your hoses and tubes with a 1/2 inch inner diameter. With this barbed connection and the compression end, we aren't going to need any tools to get this installed. And so you can see we do have the flange there that will allow this to tighten down onto your mounting point, give you a nice solid connection there. But to get your hose or tube connected, basically all you have to do is slide that compression in over the tube and then you'll get that barbed end inserted into the tube. That might take a little bit of doing and it might wiggle back and forth and apply some pressure but once you get that in, you can just slide that compression in down and thread it in place and that's going to give you a very solid connection.
I actually tried this myself with a spare PEX tube that we had laying around the other night on a very similar fitting. I was super impressed at how strong that connection was. I was able to get it tightened down by hand but then to get it back off I actually had to use a couple of vice grips. So it's a very solid connection. I think you'll be very happy with it.
One thing I will note, it can take quite a bit of leverage to get that barbed end inserted into your tube. So if you are gonna be working in a very confined space, I would highly recommend trying to get that fitting put onto your tube first before you have to get into that confined space just so you have a little bit more room to get that leverage that you need. But once you have it installed, it is going to be a very secure connection, which of course is gonna be very reassuring. Anytime you're working with water, you don't wanna worry about leaks and that sort of thing. But that will then make that connection and you can easily turn that valve to open or close it.
This is constructed of a Polyoxyethylene construction so it is gonna be very durable and resistant to stress cracking. So it will hold up well for you for a long time to come, give you great performance. I do wanna point out, this is just one of the many fittings and connections that we have available here at etrailer.com. So if you're looking at your project, all the different kind of fittings and lines you're gonna need to run, I highly recommend taking a look at those other options. Make sure you've got everything you need for your project. And that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
