Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Diode Dynamics SS3 Max LED Fog Pod Light with bracket. Now this 3 inch LED fog pod light is gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. As you can see, I have this already connected to a power source and what you see here is the amber backlight that is on, one of my favorite features of this light and I do have the bracket installed on this light. Just to show you what this is going to look like when you have this installed.

I do have a bracket here, obviously that's uninstalled just to show you what this is gonna look like. It's an aluminum U bracket and it does include the hardware to mount to the light and then the hardware to mount this to your vehicle. So this bracket is going to give you the ability to mount this virtually anywhere on your vehicle and you're gonna have quite a bit of flexibility. You can also adjust the angle of the light with the bracket and then tighten that down with the hardware at that angle that is gonna work best for you. Now this amber backlight is gonna be great for a stylish touch or for more visibility when you're not using the main beam.

I went ahead and shut the studio lights off here just to give you a better idea of what this is gonna look like in low light situations. Zooming out, that's gonna give you an idea of what this is gonna look like from a distance. And then lemme go ahead and activate that fog beam there just so you can see the difference. You see how much brighter that is. So again, you have the backlight there and then that fog beam.

And then I'm gonna attempt to shine this on the wall behind me to give you a view of that pattern. So that fog beam pattern is gonna give you high intensity light in an extremely wide field of view as you can see there. And that light has a color temperature of 6,000 kelvin. Cool white. So that cool white color will match most factory lights.

It's a crisp clean light, it's gonna be, I'll give you quite a bit of visibility. And this has a raw lumin rating of 7,920 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 3,500 lumens. So you can see again, even with my studio lights on just how bright that light is. You can still see that beam. Now the peak beam intensity of this light is 18,000 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of this rating, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. So the power draw on that main beam is 3 amps, and on the back light it's 0.03 amps. And this light is designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. And that TIR stands for Total Internal Reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom design large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And from there, instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into the surface of this lens. This is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you could lose up to 10% of that light just from it shining through. But by making a part of this lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency. This does include the industry standard integrated deutch style connector and I have that plugged in, but I do have another pigtail here just showing you what that's going to look like unplugged. And this light also has a breather patch here. Lemme see if I can show that to you right there. And as you know, that breather patch is going to prevent any moisture buildup. And then we have heat sinks here on the back housing of this light. So those heat sinks are gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to increase the longevity of this light. Now this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it does feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. The heavy duty construction is going to do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures, corrosion and vibration. Testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle, and you probably didn't know this, but Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis area. So this is a 3 inch pod light and the overall dimensions, looking at the width from end to end, we're sitting about 3-1/4 inches. The height is gonna be the same measurement, 3-1/4 inches. And then when you add that bracket, the overall height from top to the bottom of our bracket is gonna be about 3-3/4 inches. The overall depth from the front of our light all the way to the back of our heat sinks is about 2-3/8 inches. Now this light does draw high current and it does require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna be sure that you're using wiring that's 16 gauge or larger for safe operation. Now we do offer this light just by itself without the bracket, or we offer the pair of these lights with the brackets or without the brackets. We have different types of lights, different colors, different intensity.
