Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how we installed this Blazer Off-Road LED Light Bar on our 2023 Polaris RZR. Now, this is gonna be a mixed beam light bar, and all that means is that there's gonna be two types of optics on here. On the edges, there's going to be a fog optic, which will spread the light out in a long, thin pattern, helping you see the sides of your vehicle. And in the middle, we're gonna have a spot optic, which is gonna direct light in a highly concentrated beam forward, letting you see further down a trail.
And we'll turn the lights off so we can see it right now. And here's what that view from this is gonna look like. Now, depending on how you aim the light bar, the level of the light might change, but on our roof, this is what it's looking like. You see that hotspot in the middle, that's the spot beam. And off to the sides, we're still getting a good amount of light.
It's a lot more dim, but that's because we're not concentrating that light from the fog optic near as much. What we're focusing on there is spreading light far to the side so we can see off the sides of the trail and just make sure that we get good visibility around the vehicle. And as you can see, this light, like many of the others that Blazer offers, is gonna be a cool white LED, which is gonna give you that nice, bright, crisp white LED that is gonna match a lot of really nice headlights and things like that. Now, for the most part, that's what I like to go with, but I know a lot of people like a more amber light. Sometimes, those can cut through things like fog and rain a little bit better.
So if that's what you're looking for, Blazer does have some options in that category, just gotta pick with the right one for you. But this one is gonna be that crisp white. Now, we have ours mounted on the roof of our UTV today. And when it comes to mounting this up, there's really no set rules, it's a pretty universal bracket. So if you've got a truck or a side by side like this, you can choose however works best for you.
Regardless though, these are those universal brackets it comes with. It comes with the hardware to bolt it to a surface, in our case the roof. And on the side, it comes with the hardware to mount the light bar in one of three positions depending on the height that you want. We opted for this low position, so it sat below our basket here, and so we had a little bit more room to aim it up and down without hitting that basket. Depending on your application, maybe the top one works best. It's all down to you and your vehicle. And with all those features in mind, let's show you how you ran the wiring for our light bar because there's a pretty easy way to do it on your RZR where you're not gonna see the wiring and keep it tucked away. So what that wiring for the light bar is gonna look like is that lead passes through the roof through a hole that we drilled, and there's an access hole right here in the side of our frame or our roll cage here. And I've got a piece of airline tube fed through there. And it comes all the way down out the bottom right over here where there's a small access hole. So if you lift your windshield up and you loosen up this screw, you can lift this whole boot where the speaker is, and that'll expose the access hole, making it easier to feed your airline tube through, and then subsequently pull it down through and get all of your wiring from the top to the bottom, and then we can get it from there tucked underneath and over to the center. So if you don't have a piece of airline tubing, anything else that's somewhat rigid and can hold its structure would work. You might have some luck with a coat hanger if you unfold it. You might even have some luck if you've got extra wiring. That channel from the bottom to the top here is pretty narrow and it doesn't leave a whole lot of room for the wire to go. So you might have some luck even poking the wire up through. Regardless, I think you're gonna have the best luck going from that bottom access hole to the top up here and meeting your wiring there. For us to simplify the installation and since we have so many other lights on this RZR, we opted for their wireless remote, which allows us to hit a button and control it all through a pretty simple box. And where that wiring all routes to in the center is where that box is. So if you open up on your RZR, just the center cubby and take out this tray, it's gonna reveal where that box is getting its power from. Now, we left a good amount of excess wire on here, so we could take this out if we needed to to replace the fuse or something, but this is what that module looks like. All of our wires just run into power and ground here, and each slot corresponds with a button on this remote, allowing us to control that light bar. And in that cubby off to the right side here, we've got a post for positive and negative. That's where we're pulling power for that little module box. This is just a basic busbar on the RZR and it makes installation with this wireless method pretty darn easy. And as far as options for a light bar go, I think it's gonna be a pretty solid entry-level option. When it comes to aftermarket lighting, I've got a lot of experience with some really premium options, and as far as this one goes being a more entry-level pick, I like it. The installation was easy enough, especially with that wireless remote. And then the fact that we're getting a pretty good output of light with a pretty simple setup, I like it. At the end of the day, light is light, and it's gonna be up to you to decide what fits best with your vehicle in terms of the dimension of the light bar and the optics it provides. So if that's what you're looking for, then this has just been our look at this version of the Blazer Off-Road LED Light Bar. Thanks for watching.
