Video Transcript for WeatherTech Easy-Install No-Drill Mud Flaps Installation - 2017 Ford F-150

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Ford F150, we're going to be taking a look and showing you how to install the Weathertech easy install no drill mudflaps for the front and rear, part number WT110050-120050. It's also available for the front only, using part number WT110050 and for the rear only using part number WT120050.So here's what our Weathertech mudflaps look like once we have the installed. Now these are not only going to protect our vehicle, but also our trailer for any kind of road debris and anything flying up that may cause damage to the bottom side of our truck or and cargo that's on our trailer. Now it's going to come with the rear and the front as well. So we're going to have a whole set.Installation's going to be rather easy and we're not going to have to drill anything at all. It's going to use a factory mounting points along with a quick turn knob, that we're going to be able to attach directly to the fender.

It's going to come with a tool to tighten up and secure the quick turn knob. And the fasteners are going to be stainless steel, so we're not going to have to worry about any kind of rust or corrosion. Now these are custom designed. So they're going to follow the contours of our truck perfectly. And the material they're made out of is a thermal plastic resin. So it's going to have a extra long life span on them.

So if you're looking for some mudflaps to wither replace or upgrade the ones that you have on your truck. These are going to be a great option, that we're not going to have to drill into our truck. And they're also going to protect our truck from any kind of road debris. So now that we've gone over some of the features and seeing what they look like, let's go ahead and show you how to get them installed. So we're going to start on our driver's side front here. The first thing you're going to want to do is, you're going to want to turn the wheel all the way to the left.

So we have a little bit more working room right here. At the very bottom of the fender liner, we're going to have two fasteners that we're going to have to remove. So you're going to want to grab a 5.5 millimeter socket and we can pull those two out. You're going to want to hold onto the hardware as well. Now if we come down and just right behind that, we're going to have a plastic push pin fastener that's holding it in as well. So you're going to want to grab a flathead screwdriver or a trim panel tool or whatever you can get in there.

You're going to want to go underneath and try to pry it out and pop it out. So we can go ahead and pull our chip guard off here. Now there is another plastic clip holding it in place. So again just take a trim panel tool or a screwdriver, you're just going to pop that out of there. And the chip guard is not going to get reinstalled. Now behind that plastic guard, we're going to have two bolts. We're going to want to remove that front bolt right here, towards the front of our tire. But again we're going to hold onto that hardware. Be using a 10 millimeter socket to pull it out. So we're going to grab our mudflap now. Now at the very top here, we're going to notice that it has a little cam mechanism. You're going to want to look and it'll have a little lock symbol and an unlock symbol and a little silver tab. You want to make sure that, that silver tab is in the unlocked position. If it's not, you can reach over to the other side and just rotate it until the black piece is on top and the silver piece is all the way against that edge.So we can take our mudflap and we're going to line it up with the holes that in our fender and below. Then we can take the included hex key and we're going to slowly tighten that bolt. Now it will rotate into the locked position, that's okay. And we're just going to tighten that bolt while we're pressing against the mudflap up against the fender liner here. So it has a nice snug fit. It should stop on that locked position and you're going to snug it up until it's nice and snug. You don't want to go crazy tightening on it, you just want it nice and snug. Then we can take our factory fasteners and loosely put them back in place. Then grab that five and a half millimeter socket and tighten them up. Then we can put the other bolt towards the back of our truck back in place. Get it loosely started. Then grab that 10 millimeter socket and tighten it up.Now on the back side, again on the left hand driver side. We're going to have two plastic push pin fasteners holding this piece on the bottom as well as one on the under side, that's holding it in place. So again just take a trim panel tool and we're going to pop those plastic push pins out. And if you're having trouble getting them out or they break, that's okay. We can just go ahead and pop that out or cut the back side of it because these aren't going to be getting reinstalled. Just take a pair of cutters, cut it off. Then we can pull the excess out the back. Now again we're going to take our mudflap and make sure it's in the unlocked position. We're going to line up our holes with the factory holes. We just pulled those push pins out. Then we're going to tighten up that bolt using the included tool. And when you're tightening, you just want to make sure you keep pressure against the fender. And again you don't want to go crazy tightening you just want to get it nice and snug. Now to secure the mudflap and the other three locations. They're going to provide us with some screws. And we're going to take a flathead washer, go on the outside of that. We're going to go through the mudflap and then secure it on the back side with a nut. So if you come behind the fender here, you'll be able to get your hand in and get the nut in place and snug it up from the back side. And then we'll get that final one on the bottom in place as well. Now to snug up my hardware, I'm going to take a 7/16 wrench to hold the nut on the back side and a Phillips head screwdriver so I can tighten down those bolts. And we'll repeat that for all of our hardware. So with our drivers' side in place, we're going to go ahead and repeat that same process for the passenger side. And that'll finish up your look at the Weathertech easy install no drill mudflaps for the front and rear, part number WT110050-120050 on our 2017 Ford F150.

Just like the description says...easy install, no drill, digital fit. Looks like they came with the truck. Highly recommend.

by:

Did not fit well on the 2022 Dodge Ram 3500. The rear flaps did not quite fit the OEM fender flares on the vehicle. Too tight - not enough clearance to sit nicely against the flares. There was also no hole for the trim fastener so had to drill a 1/4" hole for little plastic fastener - not a big deal. Hoping the front ones fit better, but they were worse. Same story - the "digital fit" flaps did not fit the OEM fender flares. Tried a heat gun to hopefully warm the flap and maybe get them to fit together better, but couldn't quite get it. I'll need to get some longer fasteners, otherwise one bolt and the little plastic tab are all thats holding it on. Maybe if the weather warms a bit...? Def not as advertised.

Delivery was quick. The mudflaps were very easy to install it took me about 15 minutes. Extremely happy with the way they look and no more rocks and debris flying up from my tires. Definitely recommend.

by:

holes did not line up with pre existing holes on car
for installation. Very hard
to install. will NOT buy weathertec again

by:

Look great! Look OEM. Wish all the hardware was black. And in the front the two screws you pull out both sides, trash go get something a little longer and more girth. etrailer was great the arrived earlier then expected.

by:

Fantastic product. Very easy installation. High quality. Very fast delivery! Etrailer is the best as always!

by:

These mud flaps are great! Good Instructions and install went quickly. They look really good and should perform well, protecting the rocker panels and the side steps from mud and stones. Very pricey but good quality. Front Pair.

by:

Took a little effort to get it to match up with the plastic wheel well fender flares but once I did I have not had any issues. Looks somewhat subtle but is pretty effective at stopping thrown debris onto the paint.

by:

Great service item was shipped and received quickly. Mud flaps were easy to install.

by:

For someone who is "old school" and reluctant to install plastic onto a machine, I'm impressed with the ease of installation and durability so far. I've put about 7500 miles on them without an issue. And thanks to Etrailer for carrying great products and providing great info to consumers. You folks have a great Business model!

by:

I was apprehensive about buying these as the weather tech company said they would not fit. My vehicle has power running boards and 22” wheels..I researched forums and took a chance. They fit…no problem. See attached photos and video.
Thanks

by:

Great product, easy to install, I didn't find the instructions, but was easy to figure out. I would recommend this product

by:

This is a good investment. First, etrailer is a great place to get what you need for supplies! The weathertech mud flaps are a great addition to a raised F-250 with larger tires that pulls. This will provide the rest of the protection I need as well as cut down on debris that the tires throw up at other cars/trucks. Very easy to install and if I want to remove them then I have all the pieces necessary except for the push grommets which I can get anywhere. I think I will leave them on for a while....not bad looking either.

by:

East install on 2023 Thor Compass 23te Motorhome. Fit perfectly. Place some tape on a open end wrench to hole the nut on and you are good to go.

by:

Weather tech always fits and looks good

by:

Good quality. Arrived quickly
Easy
to install.

by:

I ordered Weather Tech mud flaps for my GMC Sierra 1500. The front flaps were easy to install by using existing fasteners installed on the truck by GMC. The rear flaps were slightly more challenging requiring the placement of clamps (integral to the flaps) on the rear fender. The entire installation of all flaps required about 45 minutes. they look great and they will protect my fenders from being damaged by road debris.

by:

Fit my 2020 Honda Ridgeline perfect! Easy to install with easy to follow instructions. Match oem black plastic great. Really complete the look of truck. Very happy customer.

by:

I ordered a set of weathertech no drill mud flaps for my new 2022 Colorado and they fit great and easy to install. Well after a couple of weeks I put on GM flares so I had to order another set for flares. Same thing excellent fit and easy install. Quick shipping and good service.

by:

Seems like a solid product. Made in the USA. The instructions were a bit off. So I jumped on the etrailer YouTube account, found the install video. Issue solved. I will say I'm more impressed with etrailer than weathertech. However, nice fit and finish. I would recommend this product.

by:

Good service and product from etrailer, and the mud flaps fit was exact, no issues and easy to install.

  • Front and Rear Mud Flaps for a 2017 Ford F-150 without Fender Flares
For both front and rear mud flaps for your 2017 Ford F-150 without the factory add-on fender flares I recommend WeatherTech mud flaps # WT110050-120050. This is a no-drill, custom fit installation for your truck. I have linked the installation details for you.

  • Splash Guards That fit 2017 Ford F-150
The WeatherTech Mud Flaps # WT110050-120050 will require you to either use a trim clip remover to take out the factory plastic rivets; if you take a look at the part of the instructions I've attached it shows you the necessary step you'll need to take. If you only wanted the rear flaps that would be # WT120050 while the front is # WT110050. I've also attached a link to a video review of these guards for you to take a look at.

  • Will Rock Tamers Adjustable Mud Flaps Interfere with Sensors on 2018 Ford F-150
The Rock Tamers Heavy-Duty Adjustable Mud Flap System # ERT00108 is a great universal option but there is a good chance that they would trigger those proximity sensors on your 2018 Ford F-150 when attached. The mud flaps will slide onto your ball mount and the raised crossbar will extend the length of the rear bumper which is exactly where those sensors are located. To avoid this interference your best option will be with a permanent mount kit that's custom fit for your truck. For this...

  • Recommended Rear Skirt to Deflect Rocks/Debris on Back of a 2019 Ford F-150
While we don't have a skirt designed to fit your 2019 Ford F-150, we do have great mud flaps that deflect rocks and debris on the back of your truck. For that route, I recommend either the WeatherTech Rear Mud Flaps # WT120044 (if you have wheel lip moldings) or the # WT120050 (if you do not have wheel lip moldings). Not only will these create a barrier for rocks and debris, they also involve a simple, no-drill installation. Also, they are 100% made in the U.S.A. I went ahead and attached...

  • Mud Flaps For 2020 Ford F-150 With Rear Wheel Well Liners
As long as the liner is on the inside of the fender and does not come to the outside then the WeatherTech Mud Flaps - Easy-Install, No-Drill, Digital Fit - Rear Pair Item # WT120050 are going to fit your 2020 Ford F-150. Because the mud flap has a spin tab that locks to the inner lip of the fender, if the liner comes outside of that lip then the only way to get them to fit would be to make a small slice so the spin tab can lock to the lip of the fender.
