Video Transcript for WeatherTech No-Drill Front Mud Flaps Installation - 2012 Chevrolet Silverado

What's up everybody, I'm here with etrailer. Today, I have a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado, and we're gonna be taking a look at the WeatherTech Custom-Fit Front MudFlaps. So these are gonna either replace your existing mudflaps or just get some mudflaps on your truck. Basically what these are for, is just to protect the truck from scratches and stuff like this. Once it starts to kinda chip away at the paint, whether it's right here or just along this door, eventually that'll start to rust away. And also if you have running boards and stuff, you don't really wanna have rocks and everything coming up and shipping them up and stuff like that.

So this is mainly gonna be for protection, especially if you start getting some wider tires and stuff like that, and a little bit grab aggressive tires, it typically has a lot of room for rocks and stuff. As you can see, there's literally a rock right here, and these as we're going around, you hit bumps and stuff, they're gonna start flying up. So that's basically the bread and butter of mudflaps is just protecting the truck. It does have a custom-fit, which is super awesome. So basically you just put it up to it, and it's gonna use your factory holes, and your factory hardware to get them all mounted up.

It's made of a thermal plastic resin design. So it's gonna be impact resistant, and it's not really gonna fade over time or crack in the cold winter months. One thing that kind of sets these apart from the Husky Liners, which I would definitely compare these two is the backside here. It does have this little bolt, which compared to the other ones, the other ones are just kind of a flat face. So if you're wanting to maybe just, I don't know, maybe just like the looks of this, I don't really think it matters much, at the end of the day, mud flaps are mud flaps, and they're gonna protect the truck.

But if you'd like this look better than the Huskys, then go with these. But at the same, at the same time, they're basically the same thing, made of the same stuff, and they're gonna protect your truck in the same way. First thing you wanna do is clean up the spot where the flaps are gonna go. As you can see the flaps that we had on here before, it's just leaving a lot of debris. So we really wanna clean that up.

Just take whatever you got, soak it real good. And then take like a shop towel or whatever to clean it off. Yikes, so a lot of that was dirt and more of it was just kind of just little mix in size. That's something that we're gonna try to prevent with these flaps. So now that that's done, there is a little sticker that comes in the kit, which will protect this from that happening. They didn't have it on here before, and that's why it looks like that. But basically we're gonna have a whole left-hand side and a right-hand side. You can take a little insert. We're not keeping those on here, so I'm not gonna use this, but basically just put it kinda like right there and that'll just protect all that from happening. So once that's done, we are gonna have to kinda move our wheels around to be able to access all this. So depending on what side you are, it's gonna let you know, where are you gonna need to turn your wheels So once that's done, we just need to remove all of the hardware holding the old mudflap or just our wheel liners in. So get all those out. I took out most of them when we took these off, but there is gonna be a little tab right here. You could do your best, take a tool or a flathead screwdriver, and you know how these are, they just kind of pull out like that. You can pull out the core, and we will use these later. So we just wanna set that to the side for now. And then we can go ahead and I just hold these up and we can use the hardware that we took off before, just to kinda re-install these. So what I'm gonna do is I'm just gonna start with the one I have right next to me. Put that in. And I insert this back in there. And I'm just using the hardware that was here before. I'm not gonna completely tighten them down yet. I'm just gonna get all of them in and then tighten them all at the same exact time. And then for the very last one, which is way in the back right here, one, we're gonna have to turn these wheels to access it. But if you have just a straight through hall, they do give you a screw and a lock nut that you can put through there. And then turn this on on the other side. But with our case today is actually has a threaded hole and there was hardware in there before. So I'm just gonna replace that. But if that's not the case, it does come with one for each side. So now we can just repeat that same exact process for the other side, and that's basically it for the installment. And that'll do it for our look at the WeatherTech Custom-Fit Front MudFlaps on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado..

Got what I needed and very helpful! Boat trailer parts and truck parts thank you for on time shipping! Will order more parts from you!

by:

Perfect fit, good instructions. Took about 15 min. to install.

by:

Just like the description says...easy install, no drill, digital fit. Looks like they came with the truck. Highly recommend.

by:

Did not fit well on the 2022 Dodge Ram 3500. The rear flaps did not quite fit the OEM fender flares on the vehicle. Too tight - not enough clearance to sit nicely against the flares. There was also no hole for the trim fastener so had to drill a 1/4" hole for little plastic fastener - not a big deal. Hoping the front ones fit better, but they were worse. Same story - the "digital fit" flaps did not fit the OEM fender flares. Tried a heat gun to hopefully warm the flap and maybe get them to fit together better, but couldn't quite get it. I'll need to get some longer fasteners, otherwise one bolt and the little plastic tab are all thats holding it on. Maybe if the weather warms a bit...? Def not as advertised.

by:

holes did not line up with pre existing holes on car
for installation. Very hard
to install. will NOT buy weathertec again

by:

Delivery was quick. The mudflaps were very easy to install it took me about 15 minutes. Extremely happy with the way they look and no more rocks and debris flying up from my tires. Definitely recommend.

by:

Look great! Look OEM. Wish all the hardware was black. And in the front the two screws you pull out both sides, trash go get something a little longer and more girth. etrailer was great the arrived earlier then expected.

by:

Fantastic product. Very easy installation. High quality. Very fast delivery! Etrailer is the best as always!

by:

These mud flaps are great! Good Instructions and install went quickly. They look really good and should perform well, protecting the rocker panels and the side steps from mud and stones. Very pricey but good quality. Front Pair.

by:

Took a little effort to get it to match up with the plastic wheel well fender flares but once I did I have not had any issues. Looks somewhat subtle but is pretty effective at stopping thrown debris onto the paint.

by:

Great service item was shipped and received quickly. Mud flaps were easy to install.

by:

For someone who is "old school" and reluctant to install plastic onto a machine, I'm impressed with the ease of installation and durability so far. I've put about 7500 miles on them without an issue. And thanks to Etrailer for carrying great products and providing great info to consumers. You folks have a great Business model!

by:

I was apprehensive about buying these as the weather tech company said they would not fit. My vehicle has power running boards and 22” wheels..I researched forums and took a chance. They fit…no problem. See attached photos and video.
Thanks

by:

Great product, easy to install, I didn't find the instructions, but was easy to figure out. I would recommend this product

by:

This is a good investment. First, etrailer is a great place to get what you need for supplies! The weathertech mud flaps are a great addition to a raised F-250 with larger tires that pulls. This will provide the rest of the protection I need as well as cut down on debris that the tires throw up at other cars/trucks. Very easy to install and if I want to remove them then I have all the pieces necessary except for the push grommets which I can get anywhere. I think I will leave them on for a while....not bad looking either.

by:

East install on 2023 Thor Compass 23te Motorhome. Fit perfectly. Place some tape on a open end wrench to hole the nut on and you are good to go.

by:

Good quality. Arrived quickly
Easy
to install.

by:

Weather tech always fits and looks good

by:

Fit my 2020 Honda Ridgeline perfect! Easy to install with easy to follow instructions. Match oem black plastic great. Really complete the look of truck. Very happy customer.

by:

I ordered Weather Tech mud flaps for my GMC Sierra 1500. The front flaps were easy to install by using existing fasteners installed on the truck by GMC. The rear flaps were slightly more challenging requiring the placement of clamps (integral to the flaps) on the rear fender. The entire installation of all flaps required about 45 minutes. they look great and they will protect my fenders from being damaged by road debris.

by:

I ordered a set of weathertech no drill mud flaps for my new 2022 Colorado and they fit great and easy to install. Well after a couple of weeks I put on GM flares so I had to order another set for flares. Same thing excellent fit and easy install. Quick shipping and good service.

by:

Seems like a solid product. Made in the USA. The instructions were a bit off. So I jumped on the etrailer YouTube account, found the install video. Issue solved. I will say I'm more impressed with etrailer than weathertech. However, nice fit and finish. I would recommend this product.

by:

Good service and product from etrailer, and the mud flaps fit was exact, no issues and easy to install.

by:

Easy to install great product

by:

If anyone wonders how difficult these mud flaps are to install. You have no need to worry, it doesn’t get easier to install the weather tech mud flaps.

Protect your vehicle in a matter of 30 minutes!

  • Are WeatherTech Rear Mud Flaps Available For a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body
The rear mud flaps for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body would be the WeatherTech Mud Flaps - Rear Pair, part # WT120010. The rear mud flaps will not work on Dually vehicles. If you need the front and the rear mud flaps together you can order the WeatherTech Mud Flap 4-Piece Set, part # WT110010-120010. These mud flaps will fit vehicles with factory running boards, but will NOT fit vehicles with fender flares.

  • Mudflap Recommendation for a 2013 Chevy Silverado
The correct mudflaps by Weathertech that we offer are the part # WT120010 for just the rear, part # WT110010 just the front and part # WT110010-120010 for both. The pictures may look somewhat different but I can assure you that whichever way you order the mudflaps you will end up with the same sets. We don't carry the front flaps you described that you are looking for either unfortunately.
