Video Transcript for WeatherTech Mud Flaps Installation - 2008 Chevrolet Silverado

Speaker 1: Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to be taking a look at and also showing you how to install the WeatherTech Easy Install No-Drill Mudflaps. This is for the front and rear set. The part number is WT110010-120010. If you just need the front, the part number is WT110010, and for just the rears, the part number would be WT120010.Now these WeatherTech mudflaps are going to offer a very quick easy installation. They're going to give us great protection. From the front they help out a lot with the bottom edge of the vehicle, underneath your door or doors here.

Also, if you have any kind of tube steps or anything like that, these help to prevent rocks and debris from being thrown up nicking those, eventually causing corrosion. Now in the rear, they're designed to give protection for our vehicle of course, but more importantly, anything that we might be hauling, whether it's a camper, a car carrier, a boat, or for that matter just motorists traveling behind us. These are drastically going to reduce the risk that we're going to slinging rocks or debris up where it might hit one of those items. Now to help ensure that our mudflaps last for a very long time, they're constructed of a thermal plastic resin. This is going to help to resist any cracking, any breaking, and also offers some UV resistance. We won't have to worry too much about fading. The thermal plastic resin has also designed with a texture on it that's going to very closely mimic what we typically see with your factory trim. You'll see once installed, the WeatherTech Mudflaps are going to follow right along with the contours of the Silverado, right along the bottom there, give it a really nice clean finished look. Now the installation process is going to be really straightforward.

We're on the passenger side here. We want to start with the one that has the RH on it. It's going to be for the right hand, just like that. In the fender well, we are going to take out the two push pin fasteners located on the bottom. We want to hang onto one of them.

We'll be reusing it. That will be at this location. Just going to use a flat blade screwdriver to get in behind the center section. We want that to come out. If it comes all the way out, that's fine.

Then the larger outer section will pop out as well. Now we're going to use a socket to remove both of these small screws. Now we'll bring our mudflap up. We want to align it with the holes that we just removed the fasteners from. We are going to put the two screws back in. We want to snug these down, but we don't want to tighten them up at this point, so we can get everything in line. Now we'll return the push pin fastener into the hole we removed it from. Now we are going to take our flange nut and the provided bolt, and that will be placed through our inner hole. We're going to thread the flange nut on the back side.Once those are in place, I like to just hold in slightly and we'll secure our fasteners. See, that's nice and secure. Now, in some applications of our mudflaps, we really don't use any hardware on the vehicle, like in the rear area of our wheel well in this application. You'll see on the front side we're going to have the little cap bolt. Now as you turn that, you can see that's going to rotate that. It's actually going to pinch the body metal between the two pieces at two points, getting it nice and secure that way. There's going to be a little catch down here on the bottom in this application. We're going to slide that slot right around the bottom edge of the fender, right here. Will just rotate them right up in position. We will start by just snugging up our clamps. There's a little silver tap right here. It's going to start over here at the unlocked emblem. You want to make sure it finishes all the way over on the other side. If it doesn't, you need to loosen that up a little bit and get it into that position. Those are snug and holding. I just want to give a push in to make sure our mudflap is right up against our fender, and will tighten them down. That will do it for our installation of the WeatherTech Easy Install No-Drill Mudflaps for the front and rear, part number WT110010-120010.

They are not long enough to protect the front of my 5th Wheel. Otherwise ok. Very easy to install!

by:

Very happy with this product. Very easy to install just like they said. Saved a ton of money compared to what the dealorship was going to charge me for something similar.

by:

I am very disappointed with the Weather Tech mudflaps, not because it took forever for them to be delivered (though it did -I was not told by e-trailer that they weren't in stock the day I ordered them), but by the fact when they were finally delivered, they were missing instructions (front mudflaps) and parts (rear mudflap was missing the center screw to the lock; the lock was found loose in the bag. I had to go to home depot to try and find the errant screw - i was not about to send them back and wait some more).
I have a lot of weather tech products on all 4 of our cars as well as full front and rear mats in the truck, and have never had a problem like this before. Both irritating, disappointing and requiring an additional cost of money and time to rectify).
The etrailer packing was excellent, and once i collected all the necessary parts / instructions and figured out how to re-assemble the loose lock, the installation proceeded in an orderly manner though taking longer than anticipated based upon the etrailer video. The quality of the actual flaps looks to be excellent and they look good on the truck. If there had been some visible quality control initially upon opening the packages, I would have given them 5 stars. Unfortunately that is not how it played out.

by:

Super easy to install and it took about half an hour. Look good after a year and are still solid. Id buy them again.

by:

Did not fit well on the 2022 Dodge Ram 3500. The rear flaps did not quite fit the OEM fender flares on the vehicle. Too tight - not enough clearance to sit nicely against the flares. There was also no hole for the trim fastener so had to drill a 1/4" hole for little plastic fastener - not a big deal. Hoping the front ones fit better, but they were worse. Same story - the "digital fit" flaps did not fit the OEM fender flares. Tried a heat gun to hopefully warm the flap and maybe get them to fit together better, but couldn't quite get it. I'll need to get some longer fasteners, otherwise one bolt and the little plastic tab are all thats holding it on. Maybe if the weather warms a bit...? Def not as advertised.

by:

Just like the description says...easy install, no drill, digital fit. Looks like they came with the truck. Highly recommend.

by:

Mud flaps were easy to install and fit great on my 2023 Tundra Hybrid Max

by:

Look great! Look OEM. Wish all the hardware was black. And in the front the two screws you pull out both sides, trash go get something a little longer and more girth. etrailer was great the arrived earlier then expected.

by:

Well designed and fit just right. Look great and seem to be made from durable material. Installation was straight forward and easy.

by:

Fantastic product. Very easy installation. High quality. Very fast delivery! Etrailer is the best as always!

by:

holes did not line up with pre existing holes on car
for installation. Very hard
to install. will NOT buy weathertec again

by:

These mud flaps are great! Good Instructions and install went quickly. They look really good and should perform well, protecting the rocker panels and the side steps from mud and stones. Very pricey but good quality. Front Pair.

by:

This is a good investment. First, etrailer is a great place to get what you need for supplies! The weathertech mud flaps are a great addition to a raised F-250 with larger tires that pulls. This will provide the rest of the protection I need as well as cut down on debris that the tires throw up at other cars/trucks. Very easy to install and if I want to remove them then I have all the pieces necessary except for the push grommets which I can get anywhere. I think I will leave them on for a while....not bad looking either.

by:

I was apprehensive about buying these as the weather tech company said they would not fit. My vehicle has power running boards and 22” wheels..I researched forums and took a chance. They fit…no problem. See attached photos and video.
Thanks

by:

For someone who is "old school" and reluctant to install plastic onto a machine, I'm impressed with the ease of installation and durability so far. I've put about 7500 miles on them without an issue. And thanks to Etrailer for carrying great products and providing great info to consumers. You folks have a great Business model!

by:

Delivered timely and installed easily. Great product.

by:

Took a little effort to get it to match up with the plastic wheel well fender flares but once I did I have not had any issues. Looks somewhat subtle but is pretty effective at stopping thrown debris onto the paint.

by:

Great service item was shipped and received quickly. Mud flaps were easy to install.

by:

I ordered Weather Tech mud flaps for my GMC Sierra 1500. The front flaps were easy to install by using existing fasteners installed on the truck by GMC. The rear flaps were slightly more challenging requiring the placement of clamps (integral to the flaps) on the rear fender. The entire installation of all flaps required about 45 minutes. they look great and they will protect my fenders from being damaged by road debris.

by:

Great product, easy to install, I didn't find the instructions, but was easy to figure out. I would recommend this product

by:

Seems like a solid product. Made in the USA. The instructions were a bit off. So I jumped on the etrailer YouTube account, found the install video. Issue solved. I will say I'm more impressed with etrailer than weathertech. However, nice fit and finish. I would recommend this product.

by:

I ordered a set of weathertech no drill mud flaps for my new 2022 Colorado and they fit great and easy to install. Well after a couple of weeks I put on GM flares so I had to order another set for flares. Same thing excellent fit and easy install. Quick shipping and good service.

by:

East install on 2023 Thor Compass 23te Motorhome. Fit perfectly. Place some tape on a open end wrench to hole the nut on and you are good to go.

by:

Good quality. Arrived quickly
Easy
to install.

by:

Fit my 2020 Honda Ridgeline perfect! Easy to install with easy to follow instructions. Match oem black plastic great. Really complete the look of truck. Very happy customer.

See what our Experts say about this WeatherTech Mud Flaps

  • Mudflap Recommendation for a 2013 Chevy Silverado
The correct mudflaps by Weathertech that we offer are the part # WT120010 for just the rear, part # WT110010 just the front and part # WT110010-120010 for both. The pictures may look somewhat different but I can assure you that whichever way you order the mudflaps you will end up with the same sets. We don't carry the front flaps you described that you are looking for either unfortunately.

  • Are WeatherTech Rear Mud Flaps Available For a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body
The rear mud flaps for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body would be the WeatherTech Mud Flaps - Rear Pair, part # WT120010. The rear mud flaps will not work on Dually vehicles. If you need the front and the rear mud flaps together you can order the WeatherTech Mud Flap 4-Piece Set, part # WT110010-120010. These mud flaps will fit vehicles with factory running boards, but will NOT fit vehicles with fender flares.
