What's up everybody. It's A.J. with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be checking out these Weather Tech mudflaps on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. These are going to be great for helping protect your truck from kicking up that dirt, gravel, mud off your tires. It's going to bounce off here instead of flipping up here and hitting the bottom side of your truck or going behind you and hitting somebody else.
We're going to put them on the front and the back. Let's check it out. They have a nice streamlined factory look to them. They match the trim on our Silverado already. So they don't look like they're out of place or anything like that.
They don't come down aggressively far either. I think they're the right height to just keep that dirt and gravel from just coming up and hitting the bottom of your truck. Also, they're pretty durable. They don't have a whole lot of flex to them. So it's not just like a piece of rubber that's hanging down here, flapping back and forth.
It is a plastic material and it takes a little bit to get it to move. So it's going to be a nice, stiff and rigid to help guard. We've got the front and the rear installed today. Now it does come in a kit. If you'd rather just get them separately you can do that too.
You can either get the front or the rear separately. See this looks similar to the ones up front these are a little bit longer than those but same material. They're going to guard just as well. There's also a no-drill installation. So you're using pre-existing holes in your fender wells. You're just gonna remove some bolts and then put them back in to keep these on there. Another good thing about the rear ones is that if you're towing something behind you it'll also protect against that. So you got a trailer behind you. You don't want to kick a bunch of mud and gravel towards it, or whatever's on the trailer. This is going to help protect that. Putting these on your truck. Doesn't take a lot of time. So just follow along with us and see how we did it. We're going to start upfront with the mud flaps here. They're going to go on the backside behind your tire because that's where the muds going to kick up into. So you can easily see these two bolts we need to remove. So we're going to use a T 15 Torx bit on the bolts I kind of got them started already and then just use the ratchet to get them out. You don't have to worry about this piece falling off or anything. It's still going to stay on there. We're just going to remove these bolts and pretty much just set up the mudflap and re-install. And once we remove these two here you can see this last piece, like I said not going anywhere you have to worry about that. We're going to come up here and remove these two as well. Clean off the edge here. Just using a soapy solution to get nice and clean along the edge. Cause that's where we're going to add the adhesive. Start the base down here, and then just slowly push it on there. So just to show you what we're doing is we're adding this protector here, adhesive we just peel it off. That's why we clean the area. And this is where it's going to sit on the inside. Just kind of cover up this to help protect your paint from the facet when we tighten it down. Just make sure you take the adhesive side there towards the truck and then stick it on there. Just like that. Make sure you get all the bubbles out. I have a trim panel tool, or a piece of plastic. You kind of just run there and that'll run the bolt up through the top. With that installed, we're going to put our mud flap in. So just set it into place, and line up the holes. Use that same torch that you used earlier to run in the bolts. Once you got that last one installed you can see it's really snug. It's not going to go anywhere. To get the rear one installed. It's going to be very similar. You're going to use the same Torx bit to remove these two down here. You're going to re-install those there just like we did upfront. The only thing that's different is this locking mechanism here. Now with the T 15 Torx bit we're going to remove these. Once again, his part is not going to fall off or anything. So you don't have to worry about that. We're gonna come here and clean the outside of our fender because we have an adhesive sticker we're going to add here just to protect the paint. You're going to add our sticker here. Widen at the bottom, trying to match it up with the edge of there. Just like that. Set it in place. We're going to match up those holes and get the bolt started. So then we're going to take our hex head tool and we're gonna twist this in the lock position. That's going to bring the piece of metal on the back around the backside of the fender and lock it in place. Looks like we had to push back just a little bit to get that to go. So I'm going to push back on it and just twist it into the lock position. Just like that. We're gonna repeat that process on the other side. That about does it. I think these are gonna be a great choice for your truck especially when they blend in as nicely as they do here. Not only do they look cool, but they're functional as well. I got to keep saying they're really going to guard that gravel and mud that's getting kicked up behind your truck and just keep it from damaging yours or somebody else behind you. Well, thanks for hanging out. And I hope this helped..

These premium mud flaps are easy to install and digitally designed for a perfect fit. Protect your vehicle and your trailer from road debris. Flaps are constructed of durable thermoplastic resin with stainless steel fasteners.I am very disappointed with the Weather Tech mudflaps, not because it took forever for them to be delivered (though it did -I was not told by e-trailer that they weren't in stock the day I ordered them), but by the fact when they were finally delivered, they were missing instructions (front mudflaps) and parts (rear mudflap was missing the center screw to the lock; the lock was found loose in the bag. I had to go to home depot to try and find the errant screw - i was not about to send them back and wait some more).
I have a lot of weather tech products on all 4 of our cars as well as full front and rear mats in the truck, and have never had a problem like this before. Both irritating, disappointing and requiring an additional cost of money and time to rectify).
The etrailer packing was excellent, and once i collected all the necessary parts / instructions and figured out how to re-assemble the loose lock, the installation proceeded in an orderly manner though taking longer than anticipated based upon the etrailer video. The quality of the actual flaps looks to be excellent and they look good on the truck. If there had been some visible quality control initially upon opening the packages, I would have given them 5 stars. Unfortunately that is not how it played out.
Went on easy no permanent mods to the truck. Well designed. Have goodyear duratrack tires on my 2018 duramax. Keeps a good amount of mud off the truck compared to none. Very satisfied.
Easy to install fit perfect over original small guards really helps keep mud/sand off nerf bars if you get ones for front i would recommend weather tech good product
Fit was perfect on my 2017 silverado 1500. Took me about 1/2 hour to install all four. Did not have to remove wheels and all tooling was included. Highly recommend these mud flaps.
After having these mud flaps on my truck for a year they still look new and they held up great.
Nice looking and good quality products, and etrailer was tops again with ordering, fast delivery, and great installation info before placing the order. Ashley was extremely helpful when I called with questions, thanks! If there was one thing I would change as far as the product is concerned, the length could be a little longer, maybe a couple of inches. Because the truck bed sits so high off the axel, the rear bumper still gets road stuff thrown up into it. Still, they do a nice job protecting the painted surfaces and look very nice on the truck.
This is a terrific product and fit perfectly on my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. I installed both front and rear mud flaps. The mounting holes were perfectly lined up. The instructions are very clear and easy to use. This is the third purchase I have made from etrailer and I have been very satisfied with the price, quality and customer service every time. Thanks!
Was a little more time consuming being I have 20" tires and wheels. Not much clearance between the rear tires and the screws you need to remove in order to mount the mud flaps. I found it helpful to use a 1/4" box wrench with the supplied torx bit to remove the screws and that worked great. The front mud flaps went on with no effort as you are able to turn the tires out of your way. Weather tech mud flaps fit perfectly to the contour of the fenders even with the added corner guard that came from the factory.
the mud flaps came faster then i thought. I HAVENT OPEN THE BOX SINCE IT'S FOR MY SON'S TRUCK, THIS IS THE SECOND SEY WE HAVE ORDERED THE PAST MONTH. THE FIRST ONES WERE FOR ME AND THEY FIT PERFECT. KEEPS THE SNOW AND MUD MOSTLEY OFF THE SIDE SREPS AND THE LOWER PART OF FENDER. TO BAD i can.t get then for my 1980 ford f 150 step side. good product
Fast shipping, quality product.
If you have 20 inch wheels like I do, don't hesitate to jack up the rear to gain tool space between the tire and the screws you need to take out and put back through the flap. The front are no problem just turn the wheels to the side.
Really like the quality and easy install on these mudflaps. I would like an option of having longer ones for taller trucks like mine. I didn't give 5 stars because the drivers side front flap didn't fit exactly flat like the passenger side did. I had to remove it and use a sanding disk on my Dremel to form the flap so it would fit correctly.
These splash guards fit very nicely, they look like factory installed.
They are simple to install with good instructions.
These mud flaps are great. Very easy install and look great. Had these on my last truck also for 8 years with no problems. Would buy again. Thanks
Awesome buying experience. The Weathertech mud flaps fit perfectly.
Easy install and looks great on my new truck! Exactly what I was looking for in mud flaps! Thank goodness I didn't have to do any drilling or remove tires...thank you!
Just bought and installed my 2nd WeatherTech mud flaps. Each set fits like a glove. Super easy to install.
Yet another good experience with etrailer. The mud flaps fit flawlessly on my 2017 Silverado 3500HD, and installing them was a breeze.
Super easy to install on the wife's pick up. Love the fashion and durability of them from around the farm to on the lakes and around town. Very great quality would recommend them to anyone looking for value and well made after market flaps.
These mudflaps were shipped quickly. They were very easy to install. It took about 15 minutes. So far, I think they work as I imagined they would.
Easier mudflaps I have ever installed. Happy in Pa. Look good on the truck also.
