Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the Rampage Replacement Tub Rail Kit for your Jeep. Now, if you're putting on a soft top for your Jeep and maybe the tub rails have gotten damaged or lost or misplaced somewhere along the way, this is a direct replacement part for that, so this will work with the Rampage soft tops, and it will also work for the factory soft tops that came with your Jeep if you did get it originally. This just gives you those connecting points, so you can get your soft top mounted up on the outside of your Jeep and enjoy all the benefits of that. It comes with also the hardware to attach that. Pretty simple, pretty straightforward to get that installed. We just have our two rails.
These are going to go on the sides of our back area, and you just want this ridge here to be facing the outside. This will have a little gap, and this is where your soft top is actually going to come under and attach. It's going to attach at that little flap there. Our hardware is going to go into the pre-drilled holes along here, and those should line up with holes in the Jeep as well. This is a custom fit for the 1987 through 1995 Jeep Wrangler.
That's the Jeep YJ. We'll also have our two brackets for the corners as well. There's probably going to be a little bit of a gap in-between the edge of that corner and the end of those brackets. That's totally normal. We'll have all the hardware.
You're going to get 12 of each of these, so 12 of these little plates, 12 of the bolts to go in and hold everything tight, and also 12 washers. Now, my kit did come with an extra of everything, so I actually have 13. You might get the same, but really, the kit only needs 12. So if you get an extra, it's just a bonus in case you lose one. You want to make sure you put that washer underneath the head of the bolt, and then it's got to go through the bracket and thread into the plates. This is going to be a tapping plate, so it'll just hold everything nice and tight.
That's pretty much all there is to it. To tighten down these bolts, you will need a 5/16th of an inch Torx bit head. You can also use a T40. That will work pretty much just as well to get those tightened down. It doesn't come with that tool, so you will have to provide that on your own, but that's pretty much all there is to it to getting these guys installed. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right part for you. We do have a lot of accessories and parts for your Jeeps here at etrailer.com, so check us out. Thanks for watching.
