Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a look at this International Harvester Farmall, Aluminum Trailer Hitch Receiver Cover. International Harvester created the popular Farmall tractor brand which reduced the need for hired labor and horses. Changing the lives of many American farmers. You can reclaim that history using this iconic Farmall hitch cover, while at the same time keeping your hitch receiver free and clear of any kind of rust and dirt buildup. Frequently, when you leave your hitch receiver open, it can build up with rust and debris that will make it a little more difficult to insert your hitch accessories.
So, by having this hitch cover installed, you're going to be keeping your hitch receiver clean. This is an officially licensed hitch cover and it features the red and black International Harvester Farmall logo. The rust resistant contractor grade aluminum face with the baked in enamel finish, will not fade, chip or peel. The receiver shank pieces are constructed of aluminum. It is designed to fit the two-inch and inch and 1/4 trailer hitch receivers.
And it's gonna come with the shank pieces for both. I have the two-inch installed here on our cover. It does come with the screws needed to install the pieces, and if you have the inch and 1/4, the pieces are right here, so they will come with both. The pinhole diameter is 5/8 of an inch, and it does require a pin and clip for installation. That is not included with this cover.
So, if you do not have the compatible pin and clip that would be a separate purchase for you. However, because this is more of a premium hitch cover, I would recommend taking a look at our trailer hitch receiver lock options. For instance, etrailer has a trailer hitch receiver lock for two-inch hitches that you can find on our website using item number E98880. If you're gonna be using this on an inch and a quarter hitch receiver, we do have a lock for that as well, item number E98879. Just to give you some overall measurements, the diameter of this cover is sitting right at 4 1/2 inches and the plate itself is about 1/2 an inch thick.

Perfect for my upbringing! I was born and raised on a grain farm in Illinois. My dad, at 89 years of age, continues to be a strict IH implement user. I starting cultivating corn and beans with an "M" tractor. Loaded the manure spreader with a 300 Utility, planted and corn picked with a 460, disked and cultipacted with a 560, plowed with an 806 and 1586, and sprayed with an 886. The first tractor I ever drove was an F-20 to do rotary hoeing. That was in 1959 when I was eight years old. We restored the F20, 460 and 806 and show them. I put this Farmall IH receive plug in my front receiver of my red Duramax. Doesn't it figure! I love it. It's perfect for me. By the way, my Nevada personalized license plate reads, "IH FARM". :)

I love my new Farmall trailer hitch. I went the cheap route on shipping, and thought it would take several weeks. I had my trailer hitch within the week. Great service!!! The emblem is still as new looking as the day I got it. I gotten it to show pride in my family heritage. My grandfather and my father both had Farmall tractors when I was growing up and am still proud that they are still in the family going strong.

Some Assembly required, but not much. I am still waiting on the hitch to arrive from etrailer, so have not put this cover to use yet but it looks like a sturdy piece about 3/8" thick and held in by the receiver pin. It is primarily plastic with a brushed Aluminum face and "jeep" embossed on it. It should show up well even after several trips up and down Alabama dirt roads and add a little of the jeep mystique to the new excessively curvy Cherokee my wife bought. Sorry, no hitch in the picture.

The bracket was a little snug for my 1-1/4" hitch but with a little wiggling it is firmly in place and locked. It looks as cool as it does online.

This product looks cool and it's even better on the vehicle.
I drive a Lexus CT200h (no modifications). Here's what I can tell you after a year of having it on the vehicle:
- The cover measures 4 1/2" in diameter - it's bigger than I expected. That dimension is critical for fit between the receiver and bumper. And it just fits on my vehicle.
- The cover is cast aluminum and does not give if it hits something. Within a couple of months on the vehicle the bottom of the cover somehow cracked off. I would recommend this product only for trucks and SUVs.

I used it over the winter and its a bit faded but looks ok.
