Today we're going to be taking a look at the performance tool bench vice. Bench vice's attach directly to a work bench or work area, to hold a work piece in place while working on it. For instance, if you put a pipe in here and you need to cut it, you can do that to hold it in place. Or if you're sawing, planing, and drilling. Attachment hardware, to get this attached or installed to a work bench, is not included. The unit does feature a 180 degree swivel base, with four mounting holes. It's going to feature the single lock-down, for easy positioning. That way you can lock it into place to prevent it from being able to swivel.

As you can see, here, it has a nice swivel design. Again, when you're ready to lock it down, just tighten this up and it's going to secure it in place. Really nice design. It's a really nice feature of the unit. The unit is going to feature a durable powder coated finish. It's going to look good.

It's very strong and durable. It's going to resist rust and corrosion. Nice, durable, steel construction as well. It's got the hardware that is just that silver machine finish; gives it a really nice look. A few measurements that I want to go over with you real quick. You can see how easy it is to operate.

Just opening up the jaws right now. Everything does come pre lubricated. It should be ready for use, right out of the box. What I'm doing now, is I'm just expanding it. This will actually open up to 3 inches.

Then if we take a measurement of the jaw width, that's going to be 3 1/2 inches. The third depth, which is basically from the top of the shrew to the top of the jaw. That's going to give us a depth measurement of about 2 inches. The jaws do feature a nice textured surface for maximum grip. There are some soft grip pads that are available - you can place on there to prevent from damaging or scratching anything that you're wanting to hold. Those are sold separately. The unit also features the built in anvil, right here. This is precision machine surface, for flat shaping. That surface area is going to give us a measurement of, looks to be, an inch and a half that direction. And then going this direction, we're looking at about 1 3/4 of an inch. I'm going to go ahead and shrink it all the way back down. We'll take some over all measurements. The overall length, measuring edge to edge - that's going to give us a measurement of, I'm going to say, around 8 1/4 inches. Overall height to this point here, that's going to give us a measurement of about 5 3/8 of an inch. Then the overall width, which the widest point is simply going to measure from edge of foot to edge of foot. That's going to give us a measurement of about 5 and 5/16 of an inch. Now, those mount holes, on the unit, those are separated on center by 4 and 3/8 of an inch. That's going to be the same going either direction. Center on center, 4 and 3/8. Center on center 4 and 3/8. That's going to do it for today's look at the performance tool bench vice.
