Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the ratchet set from Performance Tools. This gives you a lot of options, as far as doing any kind of maintenance on a vehicle, or just to have around the shop. The thing that's different about this kit versus some other ones that we have here at etrailer.com is that it does come with some larger size sockets, as well as a breaker bar, so that you can undo a really stuck on there bolt or nut, a little piece of foam in between our sockets and things.So in this kit, it's laid out pretty nicely. The case seems to be pretty nice as well. Some of the other ones I've noticed that it's just a little plastic tab that hinges there, but this looks like it is plastic, but it looks like there's a rod going in between those. So it should last a bit longer in that respect and it also seems to be pretty easy to get everything out.

Nothing is really stuck in there in a way that you have to pry it out with a screwdriver or anything like that. Some other ones I've seen have been not so great.So here's our breaker bar, has that swivel heads so we can get access and break any kind of really tight hardware. We'll also get a couple of . Or an extension, a couple of spark plug sockets. We've got a five eighths and a thirteen sixteenths, also have a swivel head.

So that helps to get into some hard to reach spots, at an angle there, it does swivel on two axes to make that a little easier as well. I'm not going to go through all of the sockets that come in this kit, since there's so many, you can find the complete list though, on our website here at etrailer.com. We do also get our half inch drive ratchet. So you can hear the teeth in there. That's going to be kind of the thing that determines how good this ratchet really is.So has a 72 count gear teeth.

It's a pretty good amount. Does have a quick release on the back to make it easy to pop off those sockets and get switched out to the next one, and a switch from going on to off or vice versa. And again, come with the larger size sockets and all of these are going to fit that half inch drive. You get both SAE and metric, deep well and short well, so a pretty good set overall. I'm going to shut this case and shake it up just to see how well everything stays.

If you leave the foam piece in there that usually helps to keep things as they were.I like to do this just to see how too much of a mess you can make with this, even when it's closed. And only one socket decided to get out of place. So not too bad, should be pretty good case overall. And if you happen to leave this in a vehicle or it's in a storage compartment, it gets tossed around and yeah, it shouldn't be too bad. You do want to make sure that whenever you open it, you make sure that you open it from the right side up. The label should be on the top. Otherwise, all of those sockets are just resting in there and they'll come tumbling out. So something to make sure you take note of whenever you're opening that up.
