What's up, everybody It's AJ, with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the etrailer custom fit floor mats. Today we're going to have them in a truck and they fit a bunch of different style vehicles, so make sure you check our fit guide to get the right ones for you. But this is what they look like, they're gonna be nice floor mats to go on the floor of your vehicle, and it's gonna keep all that mud and that snow, or even that water, all that nastiness is going to be on the floor mat and not on the interior of your vehicle. So, you can always just pull this out, spray it off with the hose and clean it up, and you never damage your interior on your truck, let's check it out. One of the nice things about these mats are they are a custom fit for your vehicle.

So looking at our truck floor today, you can see how it comes up here on the sidewalls, and anything that sticks up on your floor, it's custom made to go around that. You can see here, even the slight incline there up front, where you can rest your foot. There's even apart for that on the mat, so that's nice that it's custom fit with those high walls around the side, 'cause, you know, maybe you spill your coffee or something, it falls down, you take a turn. If it didn't have these high walls, it would just go right onto the carpet here on the side, but everything's protected and kind of contained too. So, like for spills, it's going to contain it in this mat that way you can take this off, and then dump it outside.

Now in this particular truck, one of the advantages to the etrailer floor mats to the OEM, is that it covers up here behind our gas and our brake pedal. The OEM one didn't go this far up, there's actually a gap by the pedals, and when we pulled this mat up, you can actually see a dirt patch under there where it wasn't protected. Now with this one, it's fully protected back there so there's not going to be a dirt patch. This is what it looks like with the OEM floor mat, this is exactly what I was talking about. This exposed portion here where it just kind of stops and this is the dirt patch I referenced earlier.

You see, it's not covered up at all with these floor mat, but with the etrailer one, it went all the way up here and it was full coverage. Something I will say about the OEM and other types of floor mats, is that they are a little bit heavier than the etrailer one, so they're going to have an easier time since they're thicker and heavier, of just kind of staying in place. So, just sitting here, not being as light, they're going to not shift around, especially with these here too, but they just rest easy. With our etrailer ones, we recommend you set them out in the sun for, we did half a day just to get them loosened up So they form fit better inside your vehicle. Now we're going to install them.

So we have the driver's side right here first, it was really easy. Like we said before, I recommend leaving it out in the sun for a couple hours that way it's a little more flexible, it'll form fit a little bit better to where it needs to go on the floor of the truck. So we kind of line up the floor anchors here, just push them into place like that. Now for the last step is the hook and loop here, but first I'm just going to clean off an area so this will stick better. I had a little bit of dirt there, so, clean that off. And then what we're gonna do is peel back. So you have two different parts here for the hook and loop, but I'm just going to leave them together that way we accurately stick this where we need it to be. So, I'm gonna put that back on, and peel off the adhesive table on the backside of it, peel that back, and then push it into place. Just gonna apply some pressure here for a couple minutes just so it sticks. Now we're gonna repeat that for the other one on our driver's side, and both of them on the passenger side. Now, it comes in a kit, so you get the driver's side and the passenger's side, so this is where the passenger's side looks like. You've got that same texture here, and it goes up along the sides, much like it does on the driver's side. Now this one's a little different from the OEM one, it doesn't go up quite as high up here on the front, but I really think that's okay just because there's not pedals here to push anyway. So, I don't know who's putting their feet up here, but this coverage seems just fine. The sidewalls are nice and high, again, it keeps it so that any spills will be contained. If you spill something, it'll stay in here, and won't just go right off to the side. And then if you look over here, this is where the etrailer would actually excel, just because it extends all the way to the edge of the doorframe. So most floor mats stop here, or right here, this one goes all the way out here, giving you a complete coverage. So if you are jumping in with muddy boots, you don't have to worry about getting it all over here on the door jam, it's going to be on the mat still. Another thing that helps, it's got a hook and loop underneath. So, even if you're caught getting in here and it catches your boot, it's not going to kick it up and move it around on you it's going to have that hook and loop and I'll just peel it up to show you underneath. That's what attaches it, goes right into place. So then anytime you hit it, just when you're jumping up and in, it's not going to pop it up and shift everything around because it doesn't have the anchors that the driver's side does. Now we're going to see how it handles water, and how easy it is to clean off. So I'm going pour some my water just down on the mat, you see some footprints for me getting in and out of there. I'm just gonna pour it in different places and see where it ends up. You see it all stays pretty put, splashes around just a little bit, but it all kind of gathers and stays in those grooves like it's supposed to and shifts around. Now, I'm just going to take a shop towel and just try and wipe it off. It wipes up pretty easily. So we've got all of it about cleaned up here, you saw how easily that was. None of the water soaked into the floor mat or was difficult to get to. I just use the paper towel and absorbed all the water, I'm coming back through with another one just to get the rest of the droplets off there. So if you do have a simple spill, it'll be really easy to clean up with just towels as you saw, and if it gets really muddy, you can always just take it out, spray it off with a hose, and let it dry in the sun, it'll dry in no time. Overall, I like these floor mats. Now they're not top of the line, but that's okay, you don't always need that. Actually, these are going to save you, these are much more cost-effective, but you're not sacrificing a whole lot of options. It's still going to have great coverage on your floor so you don't have to worry about cleaning it all the time, or clean your floor all the time, it's gonna stay right in there. They're really easy to take out and put back in, easy to clean off. So, those things are really helpful, the only other thing would be some of the other ones might be a little bit more heavy duty material, have some weight to them and sit in there, but are still custom mat so they still fit right where they should in the bottom of your truck, so they still work out pretty well.
