Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Custom Fit fifth wheel installation kit with the dark gray base rails for your Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Now this is a custom-fit part. It is designed to fit the 2020 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD trucks without the OEM Prep package. And on a custom-fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now this kit is a complete installation kit.
It allows you to install a fifth wheel to your truck bed, and it will include everything shown here on the table. It includes these custom-fit mounting brackets on the side, the base rails right here, comes with all the hardware you need for installation, and a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe how all this goes together. Now I wanted to zoom in on these custom-fit mounting brackets on the side here. These are designed to mount beneath your truck bed, and they provide the attachment points for your fifth wheel rails to attach to. These have a nice black powder coat finish on them to resist corrosion.
And what's nice is, these brackets provide a custom fit, because they're mounting to existing holes in your vehicle's frame. You can see the holes already in these brackets. They'll line up with the holes on your frame, so it minimizes the amount of drilling required, and it'll cut the installation time in half when compared with the universal bracket kits. Now the base rails right here, these are what'll sit in your truck bed. They allow the installation of your fifth wheel trailer hitch, and these rails are visible in your truck bed.
If you notice these have a nice dark gray finish to them, and that's to match the color of your CURT fifth wheel hitch. And these rails are industry standard rails which means they're compatible with the B&W, CURT, Draw-Tite, Reese, and Husky Above Bed fifth wheel trailer hitches.
