Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in your rear cargo area on both the driver's side and the passenger's side. You will need to remove the plastic threshold cover, cargo trays, and privacy screen to access the vehicle's taillight wiring harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at this T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector. Now, this is a custom fit item that is specifically designed to fit your 2023 and newer Subaru Solterra and Toyota BZ4X. To confirm that this is going to work for you, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide and simply input the year, make and model of your vehicle, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, this harness is obviously going to give you a 4-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights.
This is also compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters, and those adapters are sold separately. And as you can see, included here is a dust cap for the 4-pole flat connector, which is tethered to the plug housing. So, that's going to ensure that you don't misplace it or lose it, and that dust cap covers up those connection points when the plug is not in use. Now, the black box here on our harness is a ModuLite power module. The ModuLite ensures that your vehicle's wiring matches out of your trailer.
It connects directly to your vehicle's battery to avoid overloading your electrical system, reducing strain on your vehicle's wiring system, and this is not going to affect how the taillights on your vehicle operate. Now, this harness is designed to connect quickly and easily. So, what's nice about a harness like this is there's no splicing of wires. There's not gonna have to be any alterations to your vehicle's wiring that could possibly lead to damage or voiding warranties. These custom fit T-One connector plugs are going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in the rear cargo on both the driver's and passenger side.
And you will need to remove the plastic threshold cover, cargo trays and privacy screen to access your vehicle's taillight wiring harness. These T connectors are custom fitted for your vehicle, so they're going to match up perfectly with the connection points on your vehicle, and they're going to snap and lock together for a tight, secure fit. Once you have your key connectors plugged in, you will have to make a good ground connection. The ground wire is this white wire. It has a terminal ring attached to it, and it does come with a self-tapping screw as you can see right there.
And so, you can get this grounded to a suitable location such as your vehicle's frame or cross member. You do wanna make sure that that surface is clean and rust free. Then, you'll want to mount your ModuLite box to a safe, out of the way location. You can do that with another mounting screw that you might have on hand, or you can use this included double-sided adhesive tape or maybe use one of the many included cable ties that come with your kit. Next, you will have to run the hot lead to your vehicle's battery. That's this short black wire that's coming out of this ModuLite box. This short black wire is going to get connected to this length of black wire, and you're going to connect our hot lead to this wire with one of the butt connectors that's included with this kit. And then, you'll just route this other end to your battery. And then, once you have this routed to your battery, you're going to take this fuse holder, and you'll just cut that yellow wire in half and you'll connect one of the wires of this fuse holder with the second butt connector to the other end of this black wire that you routed to the battery. And then, you will take the other yellow wire and connect a ring terminal to it. And then, that ring terminal with this fuse holder is going to attach to the positive post of your vehicle's battery. This does come with a 15 amp fuse that will go into the fuse holder, and then, you'll just close that cap to protect the fuse. And then, you can secure any slack in your wiring with the many cable ties that I mentioned earlier that come with this kit. And you do, as you can see, get quite a few, so you'll be able to make sure that your wiring is good and tight and secure. Now, once the installation is complete, the four-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle. A mounting bracket is recommended to keep your connector secure. And we do have a few options for brackets for 4-pole flat trailer connectors, and you can check that out here at etrailer.com. The maximum amperage for the stop turn lights is five amps per circuit, and for the taillights, 7.5 amps per circuit, and the wire is constructed of, the harness, rather, is constructed of 16 gauge bonded wire. Instructions are included to guide you through the installation process, and it is also recommended that you use a small amount of dielectric grease on all of your electrical connections, like your plugs on the vehicle and on the 4-pole connector itself. It's designed to help prevent electrical failures caused by corrosion and moisture. So, if you do not already have some dielectric grease and you would like to check that out, on your screen, I am including our item number for that grease. You can just take that item number and pop it in the search field of our website, and that will take you to it. You can add it to your order if you so desire. Well, that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
