Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at this plug and tow vehicle wiring harness with four-pole flat trailer connector. Now this is a custom fit harness that is designed to fit your 1999 to 2005 Pontiac Montana, your 1997 to 2004 Oldsmobile Silhouette, your 1997 to 1998 Pontiac Trans Sport van, and then finally, your 1997 to 2005 Chevrolet Venture. This harness is going to give you a four-pole flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. It's also going to be compatible with five-pole, six-pole, and seven-pole adapters, and those adapters are sold separately. And included is this detachable dust cap for the four-pole flat trailer connector that's going to cover up those connections when you're not using this to keep those connection points nice and clean, free from dirt, debris, and moisture.
Now I wanted to point out that this harness does have a taillight converter box. This is going to make sure that your wiring matches between your vehicle and your trailer. And we have these custom fit plugs that are going to plug into your vehicle's wiring harness. Now to access that harness, you wanna remove your driver and passenger tail lamp assemblies to expose the factory wiring harnesses on your vehicle, and these harnesses should have the same connector ends as this wiring kit, and will be connected directly to the lamp assembly. So you wanna disconnect your vehicle taillight wiring harnesses, and the connectors will disconnect by pressing or lifting on a locking tab, and pulling them apart.
And then you do want to apply a small amount of grease to all of your electrical connections to help prevent corrosion, and a small packet of grease is included with this harness. And then you're going to route the green wire that I have right here. You're going to route the green wire of this wiring kit up from under your vehicle's bumper, and plug it into the male and female harness connectors on the passenger side, and you wanna be sure the connectors are fully inserted with the locking tabs in place. And then you're going to route the yellow wire connector along the bumper to the vehicle driver's side, and plug into the male and female tail lamp harness plugs. And then you're going to route your four-way flat to the center of your vehicle, and secure any excess wires with the included cable ties.
And once the installation is complete, the four-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle near the trailer hitch. You could pick up a mounting bracket here from etrailer for your four-pole flat connector, so you can mount that near your trailer hitch for ease of access. Instructions are included to go over in a little more detail the step-by-step instructions that we kind of briefly went over. And that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I looked everywhere to get the right trailer to my 05 Montana and I went through 3 different kitsch but they were not the right ones. With retailer I got the one perfect for my van and so easy to install. Now I have to put all my rear interior back to what it was. Didn't need to do all that work after all. Thank you.
Easy to install, plugs right in to existing harness.

The kit is pre-wired using OEM connectors, Installed in less than 30 minutes. I would recommend this kit to anyone.

After a year of flawlessly performance I would still give it five stars. This was money well spent.
The pictures on the website gave confidence that I would be receiving the correct part. Ordered this same part from a competitor and despite being listed as the correct item for my vehicle the wiring connections did not match up. The etrailer part was 100% perfect.
When I turn on the lights, step on the brakes, or use my turn signals, the lights on my trailer illuminate appropriately.

GM trailer wiring kit plugs right into existing auxiliary connector.
Directions correctly state exactly where to find that connector.
Within 10 minutes trailer wiring on Minivan was done.
