Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness. This is going to provide a four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power up your trailer signal lights, so if your trailer has a four way flat connector like this, and be able to plug right in and go. If your trailer has a five pole, six pole or seven pole connector, you can get adapters for this. We do have lots of options available here @etrailer.com that will convert the four pole to that five pole, six pole or seven pole for your trailer. Those are sold separately, but it's very simple to plug those in and get it to work with your trailer.

This is gonna be a really simple wiring harness to install. It's just a plug and play system, so you're not going to have to worry about cutting or splicing wires. This is designed specifically for the 2005 through 2007 Ford 500 and Freestyle, so if you have either one of those years, makes, and model vehicle this is gonna be a very simple installation for you because your Ford already has all the wiring built in that you need. This is really just going to plug right in place behind your taillights. So you'll disconnect your taillight wiring, plug this in place, it's going to look very similar to these connectors here.

So basically what you'll do is disconnect the connectors that are already applied. I put this in line, that's going to complete that circuits are that your taillights will function like normal, even if you don't have your trailer plugged in, that will still operate like normal. But then when you do have your trailer plugged in, it's gonna send that light signal back so that your stop, running lights, turn signals, all that, are gonna be transferred back to your trailer. So your green wires are going to go to your passenger side. Your yellow wires are going to be on your driver's side.

Very simple to plug in, prop those wires down. They do include some zip ties here for you so that you can kind of organize your wires as you're going. This will be stored inside your vehicle's trunk area, so you'll just kind of keep all the extra wire wrapped up in there. When you're ready to use it, we'll just have it sticking out your back hatch. As long as you don't close this on close you hatch with this, right where that metal piece is going to grip it's going to be fine.

You've got enough space in that seal that it won't damage the wires once you close the hatch on it. So you'll be able to stick this out, close your hatch, and then plug that into your trailer. You'll be ready to go. They do have a ground wire here with a ring terminal on it. They also include a self tapping screw so that you can get this grounded. If you do have another screw or bolt, there that's going to be on metal surface, you could just undo that bolt, pass it through the ring terminal there to get this grounded. But very, very simple installation here. And you're not going to have to worry about voiding your vehicles warrantied by cutting the wires and that sort of thing. Very, very simple to do. They do include instructions here to walk you through that step in a little bit installation process and a little bit more detailed than I just did. You will probably have to get into some of your panels on the backside of your rear compartment. That can be a little intimidating if you've never done it before, but I definitely did something that you can do. You're not going to have to pay someone to do this, it's a very, very simple installation. And it's gonna provide that signal for your trailer. You can see our connector does have this little dust cap here, so when you do have it outside your vehicle, you can keep those connections covered, so, you know, don't have to worry about them getting corroded or wet or anything like that. But like I said, most of the time, this will stay inside that back hatch area and just be pulled out when you need it. So overall, very, very simple installation, very easy way of getting that wiring harness onto your Ford. That completes our look for today. But again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com.
