Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies and some interior trim to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed within the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Today we're going to show you the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C55383. Let's take a quick look at it. It's going to be a very simple wire harness. First off, we'll go ahead and take a look at what's called the T-connector. That's this assemble right here. The one with the yellow wires always goes towards the left-hand side. We have a T-assembly where the green wire now goes to the right-hand side.
We've got a generous, long length of wire we have bundled up right here that will reach to both sides very easily. Then it comes out to our 4-pole flat right here. That will go onto your trailer. Additionally, to the 4-pole flat it's also provided with a cover when it's not being used. Also, for your installation, it also comes with some zip ties and screw for grounding the white wire to the sheet metal, which is this one right here.
This ground wire will be typically installed on the passenger side. Let's go back to the T-connector real quick. They're very easy to install. Basically, you have a little tab right here which you pull up and you can pull it apart. I can actually put two together, and this will show you what to look for on the inside of the vehicles because these will match up to ones behind tail lights. Pull up on the tab, and they come apart.
