Video Transcript for Review of ARB Coolers - Elements Single Zone Electric Cooler 63 Quart - ARB98VR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this ARB Elements Single Zone Electric Cooler. Now this 63 quart, or 15.75 gallon weatherproof electric cooler, is going to be great for such adventures as over landing, camping, tailgating, road trips, boating, and a whole lot more. This is going to do a wonderful job of keeping your food and drinks cold or frozen without the mess of ice. This single zone fridge and freezer is not only gonna be perfect for your longer adventures, but this is gonna work great as an additional fridge or freezer in your RV or camper or boat.

And so this cooler is gonna give you quite a bit of versatility. Now, this cooler does feature a 304 stainless steel outer casing, and this is going to do a great job of withstanding extreme weather conditions. It's going to resist corrosion. This has been built and designed to be used outside. You could mount this to the bed of your truck.

You're not gonna have to worry about it being exposed to the elements. It's designed to withstand that. We also have reinforced corners that are going to give you that added protection. Now, as you probably already saw, we do have recessed handles here at the front and the back. And so those recessed handles are not only gonna be practical in helping you transport this, but they're gonna be out of your way.

They're gonna save space since they're integrated. Now you're probably wondering about the size and the weight. This cooler weighs, when it's completely empty, about 70 pounds. So it is heavy duty. And then looking at the dimensions here, looking at the overall length from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to 32 and five 16ths inches long.

Looking at the width, again from end to end, about 19 and five 16ths inches wide. And then the overall height from top to bottom, about 17 or one eighths inches tall. And this does feature two heavy duty anodized aluminum latches. So these are, again, designed and built to resist weathering and corrosion. They're gonna hold up really well for you. And this cooler does feature an electronic security locking system that's passcode protected, as well as tamper-proof hinges and bolts for a permanent mount options. So this lid can't be removed. We also have a padlock recess here that's going to allow you to run an additional lock if you desire for that extra security. And that lock is sold separately. Now let me go ahead and open this for you real quick. So as you can see, these latches are gonna be very easy to open up. And so I'm gonna go ahead and open this and go back to the wide view here just so you can get a good view of what this is going to look like when it's open. And I wanted to point out here that we do have this gas and spring strut that's going to hold the lid in an open or even closed position. So you can basically put this lid wherever you want it, and it's going to hold it in that position, which is nice. What I really like about this lid is once you have it open and you're loading things up or whatever, you're not gonna have to worry about this crashing down on the back of your head. So this is virtually gonna hold in whatever position you want it at. So that's a really nice feature. Again, this lid can't be removed. It's permanently attached, so it's not reversible or anything like that. Let me give you an overhead view, just so you have a good view of our compartment here. So what we have inside here is a fully refrigerated stepped compartment. And this has a temperature range from zero degrees Fahrenheit all the way up to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. And we have removable baskets. As you can see, we have this divider here that can be removed, but then the basket itself can be removed. And lemme go back to my wide view, just so you can get an idea of just how deep the inside compartment is. So these removable baskets are going to be nice to make it easier to load this cooler. You can take the basket out, load it up with all the stuff that you want to take with you, and then drop the basket back into the compartment. And what's also nice is, if you need to do some cleanup, those baskets can come out for easy cleanup and then it'll be easy to clean up the inside compartment as well. So I'm just sliding that divider in as well. So you've got really a lot of room in here. Again, this is a 63 quart capacity. This is going to be deep enough to hold a half a gallon of milk and a two liter bottle of soda upright. And then we do have an LED light that's going to make it easier to find things here in low light or dark conditions. And that's not gonna come across really good over camera. Let me give it a shot here. I'm gonna turn my studio lights off. And so you can see the light and hopefully get an idea. But from my vantage point, I can see everything that's going on on the inside here. So in my opinion, the light is bright, it's not overbearing. It's just enough light to see what's going on inside of the cooler. So that's a nice added touch that we have here. There's also a drain plug. I don't know if you're gonna be able to see that there, but there is a drain plug here at the bottom of the compartment that's going to allow water to flow out. Again, that's going to make cleanup a breeze with this cooler. Now let me go ahead and go back to my closeup view. And unfortunately, I can't really give you a clear view of the control panel to show you the electronic locking mechanism, but I do wanna demonstrate it for you. So I'm gonna go ahead and secure the latches here again, just like that. So my latches are secured. And then if I wanna lock this electronically, we have a button here that I'm gonna push that's gonna let you either lock or unlock this. So I'm gonna push it and listen carefully. If you heard that click, that means that this is locked now. So if I undo the latches again and try to open this, as you can see, my cooler is locked electronically. Now I do wanna point out that if you lose power to this cooler while that electronic lock is activated, you're not gonna be able to get into the cooler. So you are gonna have to connect this to power once again to disable that electronic lock. And you also need the latches secured to unlock it as well. So I'm gonna go ahead and unlock it. So I'll push my button again, and I'm gonna put in my code, and then it unlocked. So I'm gonna go ahead and undo the latches. And as you can see, we're open. So that's a great feature that I really like about this cooler. And since it's got a passcode and everything, if you've got this mounted in the bed of your truck or it's outside and someone's trying to get in, if you've got that electronic lock activated, they're not going to be able to get in without a passcode. So that's really a great feature that this cooler has. I wanted to show you here in the back that we do have our outlets here. As you can see, I do have this plugged into my AC outlet with the included cord. But then we do have this strap here that allows you to bundle up the cords. So right here I've got my 12 volt DC cord. So you're gonna be able to plug this into a 12 volt DC outlet. As you can see right there, the outlets here are recessed, so they're not gonna be in your way. They're tucked back in there very nicely. And so that's all going to be in the rear of our cooler. So it's gonna be very easy to connect to power. Now I also wanna point out that the integrated battery protection system is going to allow for safe charging and discharging of your battery. Now I do wanna give you another overhead look, and I want to try to show you the control panel that I already mentioned, and you probably already got a good view of it. And for me to show you that, I do have to have the lid open, because the lid, when it's closed, does conceal a portion of this control panel. But hopefully you have a good view there. This control panel is sealed, and it is made to tolerate weather exposure. And so again, just like with the rest of this cooler, this control panel's gonna do a great job of withstanding the elements. Let me just go over some of the buttons that we have here. So we have our power button, we have our function button here where you can quickly go through the different functions that this has. This is probably gonna be hard for you to see, but this green light here is our power indicator light. And then we've got our temperature or settings button. So we have a temperature up, which can also be used for setting certain settings. So that's the up button, that's the down button, again, for temperature or settings. And then we have our keypad electric lock button that I mentioned here. So you push that to lock and unlock that electric lock. And then we have a check indication light, which is a red light here. And there's a lock symbol here, letting you know whether this is electronically locked or not. And then we also have our display, and as you can see, it's showing the current temperature inside of this fridge. So it looks like it says 41 degrees Fahrenheit, which is what the temperature is right now inside. And then we also have our passcode buttons right here. So this is where you're going to set the passcode for that electronic lock. So that's the display. Just a brief overview of that display. Obviously there's more features there that I could delve into, but it does come with an instruction book to walk you through all of those functions. This also can be controlled via Bluetooth through a free app that is available in the app store, depending on which smartphone that you're using. So that's a nice feature as well, that you can control this with your smartphone through the app. And then this includes not only the instructions, but as I mentioned, you're gonna get the cord for the AC connector. You're also going to get the cord for the 12 volt DC. And then a bolt down mounting kit is available. It is sold separately. And that's where you could mount this permanently to keep someone from walking away with this cooler. So I'm very impressed with this cooler. It is really well designed, really well built. It has some really awesome features. I do love that electronic lock option. It's again, just a little bit of added security, knowing that even though this is unattended, just as long as you have this locked down wherever it's at, you're not gonna have to worry about someone popping this open and trying to get in and take whatever you have in there. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together has been helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
