Here at etrailer.com we install, test and review a lot of different products to help you as a customer make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today, I have a 2015 Toyota RAV4. We'll be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install a PTC charcoal cabin air filter. Our cabin air filter is going to be that filter that filters the air coming into our cabin.
Now, this does get a change out pretty regularly, not only for us, but for our passengers, to make sure that we have clean air inside of our car.Now, not only is it clean air, but also it's going to keep our AC unit from having to work as hard. So when you compound that over time, it's really good to change this out so you don't have to be replacing AC units. Now, our filter is going to be a white media particulate with a charcoal lining. As you can see, there's pleats. What these pleats do is they catch dirt and debris coming through that air box.
With this being a charcoal filter, we're going to get 90% of all that dirt and debris and harmful odors. Now we've gone over some of the features, I'll show you how to get it installed.To start our installation, we're going to want to clean out our glove box. With our glove box, cleaned out, we'll simply pinch the sides together and then rotate it down. Just like this. Make sure your whole glove box comes off, and we can set it off to the side.
Located right here is going to be our air filter box. You're simply going to pinch in on this tab and pull it out. We do want to make note of how this old filter was put in. As you can see, there's an arrow with up. So we want to make sure we put our new filter in in the same orientation.Simply just slide our filter out and let's take a look at it.
As you can see, there is some dirt and debris in here. There's some leaves actually, too. So it's definitely time to change this out. With our arrows pointing up, we can go ahead and just slide our new filter into place. We can now grab our cover, slide the slot end on the left side. It's kind of hard to see, but this just fits in a little channel on the left side of our box. And push that into the channel, and we can close up our compartment. Now we can grab our glove box, snap the tab back in on the bottom, simply lift up. There's a plunger behind. Just like that, our glove box is reinstalled. With our glove box reinstalled, we're now ready to hit the road with clean air. That's going to do it for our look and installation of the PTC charcoal cabin air filter on our 2015 Toyota RAV4.

I haven't installed the product but it looks identical to the factory installed one. Its a compartment filter for 2019 Sienna. Delivery was on time as promised.

While the Filter seems acceptable, the [online] video etrailer has on-line showing how to DIY install/replace and access the filter is incomplete and a bad source of how to do it. In it, the information on a simple procedure like removing the glove box to get at the filter housing completely neglects to tell an Acadia owner it is necessary to easily disconnect the left-side of the glove box from the swivel restraint which takes two seconds. That earned the one star review and caused me to finally source other, complete and accurate [online] videos on how to do it.
