Today on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 we're going to be installing PTC's custom fit cabin air filter. For comparison, here's our old dirty filter sitting right next to our nice new clean filter. The cabin filter takes all the air that you're pulling in from outside the vehicle inside for your HVAC system and filters out all the dirt and debris. This keeps all the pollen particles and smells, and everything else from the outside from getting into the cabin, ensuring that you have a nice, clean, free air to breathe. This can relate to lowering your allergy levels and just an overall more pleasant driving experience.We'll begin our installation here on our passenger side by opening up both of our glove boxes. We'll need to remove both the screws that's located here at the top.
We're using a T15 Torx socket. Now on the bottom here there are also two more screws we're going to need to remove using the same size socket. There's one located there and here. We can now remove the glove box assembly. Just going to pop it out on each side and just set it aside for now.Behind your glove box here you'll find your cabin filter cover.
That's this honeycombed cover here. There's two tabs at the top you'll need to release. Just stick your finger behind it, pop it out. There's one here on the other side. We're going to do the same thing.
Now pull that out of there. We're going to set that aside and pull our cabin air filter out. To make it easy to get out, what I like to do is push the center with my thumb. Then I can get my finger on the side and just slide it out.We'll now take our new filter. You want to verify that you have the air flow with the arrows pointing down, as that's the direction air flows in this system on this vehicle.
We're just going to simply slide it in. Again, I like to just squeeze it just gently just to make it easier to get in there. Push it in. Once your filter's fully inserted, we can put our cover back on. Insert both the bottom ones first, then flip it up and just snap it back in place. With our glove box snapped back in place, we're just going to reinsert all of the screws and tighten them back down. That completes our installation of PTC's custom fit cabin air filter on our 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500.

The PTC CABIN FILTER #3705 is a great value. Cost is always a factor when purchasing a disposable product, unless you have a lung disorder. Just keep in mind, it may be a long wait for delivery. Ours took several weeks to arrive ... Slow boat from China??
