Clayton: Hey guys, how's it going Clayton here at etrailer.com, and today I have a 2019 Audi A3. I'll be showing you how to install a charcoal PTC cabin air filter. Our filter from PTC is going to be a white media particulate with a charcoal lining. It also has pleats, what these pleats are going to do is catch any dirt, debris or contaminants coming through our air. This filter is going to filter up to 90% of all contaminants, including bad odors, gases, anything else that might be coming in through our air box. This installs pretty easy, there's no need to take your car somewhere and pay somebody to do this.
I can go ahead and walk you through how to change your air filter now.So our filter is going to be located in our glove box. We can go ahead and open our glove box now, there's going to be a little door here. You're going to push this tab on the right side and pull this door off. Behind that door is our air box, located right here. There are three tabs on the top, you're going to push those down and pull the whole thing out.
This part can be kind of tricky just because our glove box is tight. With all of our tabs pushed down, we can now remove our cover, and located right here, there's our air filter. It's kind of hard to see but there is an arrow located right here, and that's telling us which direction our airflow is coming from.So we can go ahead and remove our filter. If you can't flex the filter enough to get it out, you can use a small flat blade screwdriver or even a little pick. So I'll take this out and we'll check out our old filter.
We have our old filter out now. As you can see, this side is very dirty compared to that side. What this dirt and debris is going to do, it's going to restrict our airflow to our AC unit. We don't want to put any more added stress on our AC unit over time. In my left hand is our new filter, in my right hand is our old filter.
As you can see the color difference. If you flip our old filter over, you can tell it was a charcoal filter as well, and it has a similar color to the one in my left hand.Now we can go ahead and install our new filter. We want to make sure our airflow arrows are pointed in the same direction. So when we took our old filter out, those arrows we're pointed down, so with these arrows pointed down, we can now slide our filter into our compartment. We can go ahead and slide our filter in, then we'll replace that cover, and then the cover inside of our glove box, in the reverse order that we took it apart. So with all of our components re-installed, you're ready to hit the road. That's going to do it for a look at and installation of a charcoal PTC cabin air filter on our 2019 Audi A3.

While the Filter seems acceptable, the [online] video etrailer has on-line showing how to DIY install/replace and access the filter is incomplete and a bad source of how to do it. In it, the information on a simple procedure like removing the glove box to get at the filter housing completely neglects to tell an Acadia owner it is necessary to easily disconnect the left-side of the glove box from the swivel restraint which takes two seconds. That earned the one star review and caused me to finally source other, complete and accurate [online] videos on how to do it.
All products came together in one package. Shipping time was fair. As always, etrailer was great for getting exactly what I needed.

I like it has carbon filter to better screen out outside impurities. It was more stiff than the original cabin filter making it harder to insert.
I haven't installed the product but it looks identical to the factory installed one. Its a compartment filter for 2019 Sienna. Delivery was on time as promised.
