Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Westin Fey Chrome Plated Steel Diamond Step Rear Bumper with the custom installation kit. Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 1997 to 2004 Dodge Dakota trucks, and on a custom fit part like this, I do recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for your application. Now, this is a replacement rear bumper, this will create a nice, sturdy step, so that you can access your truck bed with ease, and this does match the factory specifications to fit your vehicle styling, and it adds both utility and rugged good looks to your vehicle. It has a chrome plating on it that adds brilliant shine, resist corrosion, and I did wanna mention the diamond tread step surface. If we zoom in here, if you look at the top of the bumper, it uses this diamond tread surface here that provides traction when you're getting into and out of your truck bed.
If you also noticed right in the middle here, has the three integrated ball holes. This will make towing very easy, all you have to do is add a hitch ball to this. Now, the hitch ball's not included, we do sell that separately on our website. The hitch ball usually will go in the center hole here, and the diameter on that hole is 3/4 of an inch, so you wanna make sure the shank on the hitch ball will be 3/4 of an inch. The two holes, one on each side, that'll get you a place to put or hook your safety chains to.
Now, this is made of a cold rolled steel, it's very strong, very sturdy. If you noticed, it does come with the included license plate lights here that'll wire into your running lights. Basically, these would just go into the openings there, use those metal clips to hold them in place, and then you have your wiring harnesses with the bulb in it that'll plug into them, and then you have the connectors you'll be able to tap into the running lights to provide lights for your license plate. And also, if you noticed, they have the two square holes right up at the top here, comes with the plastic inserts that go in there, and then the screws will hold your license plate to the bumper. Now, this is a quick and easy bolt-on installation, there's no drilling required.
Does come with these custom brackets and the hardware to install it. Few specs on this, the towing capacity is 3,500 pounds, tongue weight capacity of 350 pounds, that is stamped on the bumper. Last thing, the dimensions on this, the overall length of this, one into the other, is 64 3/4 inches long, the width of it, seven inches wide, and the overall height, 6 1/2 inches tall. I am very impressed with this bumper. I bought it as a replacement for my 77 Ford F150. I've been restoring this truck since 2006, and the original bumper was too far gone to save. I was trying to match the original as closely as possible and this one was perfect.
It came with everything needed, right down to the license plate lights and bulbs. It was easy to install with the supplied directions and it looks great on the truck! Good price, free shipping, and very good quality. Five stars all day long.

I ordered the bumper and mounting hardware and it all came quickly. It took me less than an hour on the install and everything was still in good condition with no scuffs or scrapes. Has looked good since and the plate lights still work

The bumpers exterior box was badly damaged and torn. The bumper came in good condition but we had to straighten one corner of the bumper that bent during shipping. Thanksfully we have an Auto Body Shop.

The bumper looks like what would have come on the truck when new. But the width is narrower the OEM. Looks like a bumper for a midsize pick up. It does not look like what is shown in the pictures. Does noes go the full width of the rear of the pick up bed. When I called about this, there was little care in my question.
So with that said, would I buy from them again, no.

Bumper installed easily and looks great. Frame bracket holes lined up perfectly, and the bumper lined up on the brackets with very little effort. It took me about 1 hour to remove the old bumper and install the new bumper. Recommend having an assistant to at least help hold the bumper while lining the bolts up. It is exactly what I expected. The safety chain holes are a bit further from the edge than my old bumper, but I picked up two shackles and that issue was resolved.

These are EXACTLY what I wanted for my 1970 C-10. However they do not fit. I understand it is a universal fit, but that is why they ask for the year so they can give you the correct brackets. Their response was "Your only other option would to have something or brackets fabricated to fit your specific vehicle." The whole reason I bought them was because they were supposed to fit. Maybe once I spend $[XX] in parts trying to figure it out and cutting into my truck! I will feel different, but i would have rather spent more money upfront and not have the headache.

I'm very satisfied with the quality and fit. Other bumpers on the internet may look the same but they are not the same quality. I tried a cheaper one and it was very cheaply made. e trailer is the way to go. They kept me informed
thru ordering process. E trailer and staff did a great job for me.

The new bumper arrived yesterday (very fast). The box was unfortunately very damaged and had been taped. I have attached pics of how it arrived.
I opened everything and amazingly all the parts are here.
The bumper did sustain a minor scratch but is not damaged or twisted.
I have not try to install this yet so with the minor damage shown how should I proceed?

The bumper seems to be good quality but it arrived with scratches on the side from shipping. Also one of the light bulbs was broken in the bag.

WE ARE MOUNTING IT NOW AND IT LOOKS GOOD. IT DID ARRIVE WITH MINOR DAMAGE. THE TOP DIAMOND PLATE WAS LIFTING OFF THE CENTER OF THE BUMPER.WE WERE ABLE TO REPAIR IT.

finally got chance to install bumper on truck. the installation was rather simple a little akward for 1 person to do but I was able to install it fairly easily. This bumper is a great fit on my truck. The only fault I found was my truck had factory reciever hitch, so had to remove a bracket holding hitch to install bumper otherwise the bumper fit nicely. I would recommend this product to others. Attached are some before and after pics.

My Westin Diamondstep Replacement Bumper was installed almost flawlessly by a good friend. It arrived in perfect condition, and even had a replacement license plate light kit included that I wasn't aware of. As you can see from the photo, my new Westin Diamondstep Replacement Bumper looks great installed on my 1999 Dodge Dakota. This bumper did not fit my truck. The bracket kit that was ordered for it would not work, as my truck has a factory tow hitch. I have not been able to use the bumper.

1997 Ford F-350 XL 4x4 - Great bumper and excellent customer service from etrailer. My truck has the 37" width frame so you have to flip the mounting brackets so they are narrower to the bumper. Everything bolts directly on, no drilling.

Great product, especially for the price. Instructions and videos were good also. the only issue I had was the holes didnt line up perfectly on the frame, even though I had the exact year make and model of truck that the bumper was for. I had to drill one hole in each side of the frame to get a third bolt in (the rear bolt in the picture) and strengthen in up a bit. Id highly recommend this product and etrailer as well. Good experience!!!

Bumper came in box thin box with no end protection so the ends are chipped an rusting
Area for licensed plat
Mounting screw holes are to far down so tags are below metal edge of bumper
Police can’t see tags
I had to drill holes in licensed plat a raise up plat
Now licensed plat is to high up / past the top of bumper/ so tailgate hits top edge of plat
I had to been top edge of licensed plat backwards
Something wrong with bumper size
I probably should of returned an got original equipment bumper
I thought I was getting original equipment

I recently bought a bumper for my Dodge pickup from Etrailer. The product is everything they said it would be. The installation was quite simple and the quality is 10 out of 10. The quality is very good for the price! The only thing that need to be corrected are, the instructions show mounting the mounting brackets opposite of how they actually mount and bolt to the bumper. The higher hole goes to the inside not the outside. The only other thing that needs changed, is the length of 2 of the standard bolts in the kit. 2 of them are very hard to get the thread started with both a flat and lock washer. Other than that, this is a nice product at a nice price point
