Video Transcript for Review of ARB Automotive Tools - Jacks and Jack Stands - ARB47FR

Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at the ARB Hydraulic Recovery Jack. So a recovery jack is gonna raise and lower and stabilize your vehicle to help you out of those tricky spots on the trail if you get stuck, or you get in a spot where you just need some assistance to get a little bit higher, maybe put some traction pads under the wheel. If you've got 'em in front and they're not working, you jack it up, you throw some stuff under there to get out. Now I wanna start off with showing you the pad area down here. This stock pad is 6 1/2 inches rather wide in diameter.

And these locking points, as they call it, on the side here, there are nine of them. And you can just simply loosen this lever, that'll drop down and then you can raise it to whichever lever you wanna start on. And that'll give you the height to start on right there. And you can lower that or go up accordingly. So whichever one you wanna start on, you just lock it in and then you're good to go.

Now they do offer sold separately for increased stability, soft or rather on soft or slick ground. You can pair this jack with the ARB jack pad. In that picture I'm showing there on the image, it's that orange plastic pad there underneath the jack in front of that vehicle. And again, that jack pad is sold separately. I'll pop that item number on the screen before you go there.

That way you can order that as well if you need it. So again, you got nine different lock locking points for that lever. Now going to the top of the jack, you've got this red lever, that is gonna be your release or lower lever, and it's gonna allow you to safely lower the vehicle either slowly or quickly depending on what you're doing. And it's got a rubber bumper built in here on the front face of the jack that protects the vehicle on the one side, but kind of holds the handle in place on the other side. So if we open the handle, this guy may slide down.

Again, it's gonna protect the vehicle in the front. So very simple operation. You just simply pump it and every downward motion is gonna give you 1 1/2 inch of lift. So again, very simple operation, very easy, nice ergonomic, heavy duty handle. The jack really does pump super, super easy. Again, there's not weight on it right now, but it would be a very, very easy thing to operate as well. And again, there's no weight on the jack. I can hit the release lever, but unless I like put all my weight and then some on this, it's not gonna go down at this point, but that's not a big deal. We're gonna leave it right there where it's at for now. It is constructed from a very nice aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum and that's gonna give you maximum strength. And it also meets all ASME standards. It is rated at 4,409 pounds. And the lift range, whenever this guy's at the full bottom, it's gonna give you between six to a max of 46 inches. The tube inside, the travel of that whole leg, is gonna be between 21 to 22 inches. When this guy is compressed all the way down from the ground to the top here is 35 inches. And when it's fully extended, it goes to a nice 56 inches. The whole thing's pretty light, about 23 pounds, but yet very, very heavy duty. It's got a nice three year warranty and they even throw in a nice carrying bag for storing it. Now it does kind of look like a gun case and that's really pretty much what it feels like to me as far as the patterning inside. So if you're used to that, it's got a nice padded inside that's all stitched around. And then it's got nice ergonomic handles here. You've got the hook and loop to wrap around the two handles to secure 'em together, and it's got very nice heavy duty zippers. So a nice heavy duty bag to hold and store the jack when not in use. So again folks, this is our look at the ARB hydraulic recovery jack. In my opinion, it's a very, very nice robust jack. I think it'll do exactly what it's intended to do. And again, it's got very nice ergonomic handle and very easy to use lowering the the leg itself that can drop down and go up or down. Just some very nice features that make it really easy to use. One thing I forgot to mention, that foot pad can actually pivot, so that way if you're on uneven surface, it'll give you a little bit of extra ground contact easier. And the whole thing can rotate 360 degrees as well. Well, folks that's gonna wrap it up for our look at this ARB recovery jack. I'm Steven, thanks so much for your time. Have a great day and stay safe out there.
