Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our AirBedz truck bed air mattress right here at etrailer. You also have some different color options. You can get this in blue. I got my shirt to match it.

But you can also get this in camo. And there's different types of AirBedz too. There's the AirBedz, there's the AirBedz Lite, there's the AirBedz Pro3. Check out all of our videos here at etrailer just to see the differences between those. So, this is a very quick and easy way to set up your truck bed for outdoor adventure.

So, let's say date night, or just relaxing underneath the stars, or just tailgating, or going through a drive-in movie theater. This way, you can set up your mattress. You just inflate it. You don't have to do anything else but relax. So, the version we have here is the one with the tailgate extension.

So, this fits 5 1/2 feet beds, but then you have the extension, so then you get to utilize your entire bed. Highly recommended if you're on the taller side and you have a short bed truck. For those with longer trucks, let's say, eight foot beds, you might be able to just be fine with the mattress for that eight foot bed. But either way, having that extension just adds more cushion and more fun. Now, I personally recommend using this with your trucks with Campershells.

That way, you would actually be able to be protected from the elements and you're not out here in the wind like I am. But even without a Campershell or a ladder rack, I still had a lot of fun with our truck bed here. We have other accessories here at etrailer though, that you might still consider adding onto your truck. We have those ladder racks. We also have truck bed tents. Those are from Rightline Gear and work pretty well, and would be a great pairing with this mattress too. On our Ram 1500, the height from the top of the mattress to the top of the truck bed is 10 inches. And it's really, really windy but when I lie down, suddenly, all the wind is gone for me. So, even if you don't have a Campershell, that's nice. You might have less or more, depending on your truck bed though, so take those measurements. This mattress with the tailgate extension right over here has two different sizes, depending on the size of your bed. So, we have the larger version. So, that's going to be 63 1/2 inches wide, 67 inches long, and 12 inches tall. And this is gonna be 12 inches tall as well. The smaller version for smaller trucks is going to be 55 inches wide, 60 inches long, and then 10 inches tall. What we actually have here is a 6 1/2 foot long bed, and that was perfectly fine with the largest size. So, just take a look at those measurements and just try to get the largest that can fit inside of your truck. Let's talk about the things that are included with this mattress. So, obviously, you get the main mattress, but you also get some other goodies too. You get this tailgate mattress. This is the detachable. And it doesn't have the same kind of pump that our main mattress does. So, because of that, you also get this hand pump that's included. Now, it doesn't really output that much air. So, pretty much any other pump that you have might be more helpful, but it's nice to know that you won't be stranded without any kind of pump. So, this includes a detachable valve adapter. So, if you do have your own pump, you could use this valve adapter to inflate your mattress. Speaking of valves, you have a manual valve on your actual mattress. So, this has two caps. One can be detached with this smaller knob in order to access the one-way valve to inflate your mattress right there. And if you take off the larger knob behind this, this deflates the mattress. And here we have our rechargeable valve. So, this is used to inflate or deflate your mattress. This has a door right over here with a rechargeable battery. So, you also get a charger for this that you can plug in into your DC 12 volt outlet at home. For the material of our mattress, this is made of a durable polyester construction. We've had this outside in the cold and it's slightly cold to the touch over here, which is why we put a blanket on top. What I really liked seeing though was that the air inside didn't leak out of the seams. Even though we kind of threw it around in our truck bed, I didn't notice any fraying. All the seams look nice, and tight, and neat, so that's good. This isn't just a rectangular mattress too, you have some construction in here. So, there's an integrated air coil system. You can kind of see how that looks like over here with our different cushions on our different sides of our mattress. And what that does is it's designed to evenly distribute your weight. So, whether you have one person or two people on here, it shouldn't rise or dip. In fact, I had two of my co-workers hop in to this truck bed while we had it inside, so let's take a quick look at that. So, I have my two co-workers right here. We have John, we have Dave. And David's the taller person, John is not as tall as Dave. So, they have different experiences here. What do you guys think about the truck bed mattress so farI find it a little too small for me. My feet hang off the end, which is not uncommon but-How tall are you6'4". Okay. But I'm not gonna be able to stretch out my arms. And the first thing I noticed since been both me and John got in here, it bulges in the middle and it kind of just forces me to wanna go this direction. I think length-wise, it's perfect for me. Like I can move up just a little bit more, have the pack here, and I still have some room for my feet. Pretty comfortable for me. So, somebody my height is probably gonna be perfect, like a 5'7",Yeah. 5'8". For David's case, maybe he would like the one with the tailgate mattress more, just to get that little extra mattress space but cool. Good to know. This would be perfect for like stargazing during the summer night, that kind of thing. So, that was Dave and John on this mattress. What their issue actually was was that there's a gap over here for your wheel wells. So, it fits over on one side on our truck here but we didn't have enough space for this other side. So, definitely check out our wheel well inserts. Those add some support over here. Also helpful for whenever you wanna use this truck bed air mattress in your home as a regular home air mattress. The tailgate mattress is made of the exact same construction and has the exact same colors, so you can use the patch kit included for this or your mattress itself. And if you want to lift your tailgate, you don't need the extension, you can also use this as an extra pillow. The texture of the mattress material is smooth, but not like blanket smooth. There is a version that has that blanket smoothness. That's gonna be the AirBedz Pro3. This is more on the sturdier side. What I also noticed was it doesn't pick up dirt as much, but it does still. So, I definitely recommend picking up some fitted sheets just to go around your mattress to maintain that material. This has a weight capacity of 2,000 pounds. And what that's helpful for is, since you're taking up all of your truck bed cargo space, where do you put your cargo So, after you deflate your mattress, you could just put your bags right back on top of your mattress, and that's what the 2,000 pound weight capacity is for. So, I talked about how easy it is to set up, so let's take this inside and take a look at that process. So, this is our mattress in it's carrying bag. One thing to note is that this is actually pretty heavy, especially since you have that full air mattress, as well as the extension in there and the battery. So, with it in this bag, this makes it easier to store inside your vehicles, in your back seat, in your trunk. And then you just take it out. You have an easy handle to use when you're ready to set it up. To set up your mattress, we're just gonna take it out of its case. So, we unwrap it and then set it up inside our truck bed. Just make sure that your pump is on your passenger side and that your logo is facing your tailgate. What I'm also gonna do is set up our extension. So, you could attach it with your mattress fully inflated. But what I found was the easiest way to do it was just to attach the tabs while your mattress is deflated cause then it's easier to access that way. This pops in right there, and then you just slide it to secure it. Once you get both of the tabs secured, there you go, you're now ready to inflate your mattress. And then get your battery and make sure it's charged. I recommend charging it 12 hours or overnight for your first charge. Then pop that right in and then close the door on that, and then turn your knob to inflate. We're gonna set a timer. Timer starts now. So, I'm actually gonna stay on this mattress since I'm really curious if it will inflate with me on here. It's five minutes and we're still going. Almost there. So, I did have to get off of the mattress just because it needed to fully inflate, so that was good to see. And right there is where I will stop our mattress. So, it took about a little bit over four minutes. I definitely delayed it by sitting on it. So, it's gonna be different as well, depending on the altitude of where you are at. And with the tabs attached, for our extension, we're then going to manually inflate our extension with this pump. By the way, we have an electric air pump that plugs right into your vehicle or into the wall in case you don't want a workout like this. Okay. And just like that, our extension is inflated. Our mattress is inflated. Everything is still connected. That's it for the setup process. Good morning. So, this was actually really comfy with the Kelty blanket around me just, you know, insulating and keeping the heat in. I also had my quilt as extra layers. One thing I did notice was the mattress kind of deflated during the night. But there was a temperature change too, so that could have been it too. But I really enjoyed how I could just flip the knob to inflate real quick, put it back to off, and then go back to sleep without having to pump it back up. So, that was a good experience. So, my personal thoughts about this truck bed mattress is I really enjoy it. If you know me, if you've seen all of my other videos, you know that I'm really into car camping. So, this was a little different for me. I'm out in the open. I have a mattress in a truck and not a car. But I really like how quick it was to set up. I know friends that put chairs inside of their truck bed for when they go tailgating. They set it up. It's nice, it's portable, but it's not as fast as this mattress was to inflate and then deflate. So, just like that, you have a nice, comfortable, relaxing area to really relax and have fun in, so I definitely recommend it. Now, another thing I do recommend is the tailgate extension version. You can get ones that fit inside your truck bed. But that extension just really made a difference for my taller friends. This is a 6 1/2 foot long truck bed. And for my friends that we're over six feet tall, they needed that tailgate extension. So, just for that, go ahead and get the version with the extension instead of just the mattress.
