Ease installation of your electric brake controller by using this custom wiring adapter. Simply connect the 4 wires of the harness to your brake controller and then plug the other end into the junction box beneath your vehicle's dashboard.
Features:
This adapter plugs into the port that is built into the electric junction box underneath your vehicle's dash. The black box is located to the left of the steering column, just above the carpet. To plug in the adapter, first remove the cover on the box. The adapter plugs into the second slot from the left, on the top row.
To install your electric brake controller, you need to connect the four wires - ground, power, brake switch and brake power - of the controller to your vehicle. Certain manufacturers offer pre-wired options, typically known as tow packages, wherein these wires are run for you from the dash to the trailer connector on the back of your vehicle. Often, a brake controller wiring harness is included with your tow package. This harness plugs into a port beneath your dash and connects to the four wires of the brake controller. If you do not have a harness, or you need a new one, the Hopkins wiring adapter will serve the same purpose.

Ease installation of your electric brake controller by using this custom wiring adapter. Simply connect the 4 wires of the harness to your brake controller and then plug the other end into the junction box beneath your vehicle's dashboard. My purchase of the Hopkins wiring adapter for my electric trailer brakes was just as described. My 2015 GMC Sierra has the towing package but did not have the OEM electric brake controller. I had an older Voyager brake controller and figured I'd just purchase the Hopkins HM53085 as I didn't need wiring with a connector on both ends. The product fit perfectly and was easy to install.
Shipping was a little delayed because of the holiday weekend, but the pricing was good and I didn't need it in a hurry. Installed yesterday and hauled 7000 lbs of firewood on my trailer today. Very pleased and will definitely shop etrailer.com if I have any future needs.
Exactly what I needed to get my Hopkins electric brake controller installed and working.
