  • Bypassing the Factory Radiator Transmission Cooler 2008 Acura MDX
The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13503 is an excellent supplemental transmission cooler. However, I would not use this cooler as the sole source of cooling your 2008 Acura MDX's transmission fluid. This transmission cooler is designed for supplemental use meaning, it is more or less to aide the factory transmission cooler (radiator) not replace. This transmission cooler is really not capable of being responsible for the sole source of cooling...

  • Can I Swap My Fan Clutch for a Unit That Engages at a Lower Temperature to Help My Car Run Cooler
The Derale Clutch, part # D22022 will be a direct replacement for your fan clutch. All the clutches distributed and sold here in the U.S. follow a standard engage and disengage temperature. They engage at 180 degrees farenheit, and disengage at 170 degrees. I do not know if the 176 figure in your numbers indicate temperature or not. The clutch still has an engage at 180 and disengage at 170 and there are not clutches available, unless custom made by a machine shop, that will have different...

It is our understanding that the transmission cooler is actually inside the radiator. If you were to go this route then you will need to find the largest aftermarket cooler you can find. For this application I recommend the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler...

  • Rerouting Transmission Fluid from the Factory Radiator 2007 Nissan Pathfinder
I do have a solution that will allow you to cool your 2007 Nissan Pathfinder's transmission fluid without running the risk of coolant leaking inside the transmission but unfortunately, the radiator will need to be replaced no matter which route you go. This is a fairly common problem on certain vehicles and can cause further harm to both the vehicle and transmission if not corrected. The easiest way to prevent any further mishaps would entail bypassing the factory radiator for transmission...
