Fifth Wheel Base Rail Kit Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi there Chevy owners, and here 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. We're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Reese's fifth wheel rail kit. And this is what our rail kit looks like when it's installed, it is gonna sit above the bed of your truck, but it is fairly flat, so it doesn't really take up too much of the room here in the bed of your truck. It will allow you to hook up a fifth wheel to the back here, and it does have multiple slots, so it should work with many different manufacturers, fifth wheels, but we do have a recent here today, and if you're going with a reset of rails, it makes sense to go with a Reese hitch, 'cause oftentimes when you stick with the same manufacturer the parts tend to fit a little better. That being said, the best fit I found here at etrailer, of our Reese is gonna be the BMW fifth wheel hitch and rails, and those ones just assembled together quite a bit easier, the machining on those is very top-notch, so if you're wanting something that is very high quality, I'd recommend that, but if you're just looking to get a set a fifth wheel in your truck, and you've got a Chevy Silverado, the Reese kit here does accomplish that for you, it's a semi custom fit kit, because it is custom fit for Chevy Silverados, but it does encompass a very large range of trucks, so you are gonna get a lot of extra hardware in this kit, that you're not gonna use, because it covers such a large range of Silverados. So just take your time and filter it through your hardware, definitely pay attention to your instructions, there's a pretty big monster of a booklet there, because there's so many variations between the years and all the hardware that you get, but if you wanna follow along with us, we'll show you how to get these rails installed, you get your side plates as well with the kit, that keeps everything clamped tightly to our frame and to our bed here, giving us that option to add that fifth wheel. more

Hi there, Ford owners. Today on your 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Reese's Under-Bed Rail Kit for both 5th wheels and goosenecks. And this is what our hitch rail system looks like when it's installed. You can see here, we've got our gooseneck hole in the center as well as a puck system that's very similar to a factory set up for a 5th wheel to drop in. This is gonna be probably the best setup here if you don't have a factory setup 'cause you can easily drop in your 5th wheels without having to install like an over the bed rail kit or something like that. They just drop right down into these pucks, making it quick and easy to get those in place. more

Hey everyone, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch here on a 2019 Ford F-150. So if we come inside to the driver wheel well here, you can see we have our release handle. So this is what's gonna secure the hitch ball in the truck bed or the companion, if that's what we're gonna be using. So there's gonna be two different positions. You have the locked position, which is like so, and then if we pull it out and then rotate it slightly, that's gonna be the unlocked position. So when it's unlocked, we can remove the hitch ball, flip it around, do as we need, and then just simply lock it, whether we're towing or putting it back in the stow position, we'll just simply release it like so. more

Our Demco rails are going to work great for the Demco Hijacker 5th Wheel, but they're also going to work for B&W, Draw-Tite, CURT and many other 5th wheel manufacturers because they are going to have this spacing of a standard 5th wheel. So each one of our rails is going to be 43 inches long and the nice thing about these rails is, is whenever you're not towing you can pull the 5th wheel out and then you can see you have full access to your bed. Now keep in mind though our rails do stick up, so if you have something really long you need to slide in you will need to get over that initial hump of the rail. But our rails are only going to stick up about an inch and a half so we're really not losing that much space.As far as the installation goes, we are going to have to drill a few holes in the bed of our truck to have the bolts go down through. more

Now the great thing about these rails is that they're going to work with many different types of fifth wheels, as you can see here. And now with the fifth wheel out of the way, we can take a better look at the rails themselves. The rails are going to have three openings here on each side, and that's going to work with most common fifth wheel hitches because that's where those hitches actually drop into place.Now these are made out of steel and they're really heavy duty and should last a long time. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at the custom under bed installation kit for B&W companion fifth wheel trailer hitches on our 2015 Ram 1500.If you happen to have a fifth wheel trailer hitch and a gooseneck, B&W actually has specifically designed accessories that mount directly in the socket for your gooseneck ball. One of them would be the companion fifth wheel, and this is going to slide directly into the gooseneck and that way you'll be able to tow a fifth wheel trailer without having to get a whole lot of adapters or bolt anything onto your trailer itself.The under bed design of this kit allows for full truck bed access when you're ready, it's under five minutes to convert your empty truck bed into a fifth wheel hitch. We'll start by unlocking our B&W hitch and installing our fifth wheel adapter. We have ours preassembled, but you can adjust the uprights here depending on your truck and trailer combination.At this point, the hitch is ready to attach to the trailer. Rob: Hey, everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Reese underbed rail and installation kit on our 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Now our Reese underbed rail kit is going to allow us to mount up a fifth wheel but also have a fully open bed when we're not towing. Most this wheels are going to require to have rails inside the bed, which they don't stick up that high, but they are going to stick up about an inch or two, which means we really don't have a flat surface in our bed anymore. But as you can see, there's no rails on top of our bed because they're all underneath and our fifth wheel is just going to slide right into these puck systems and then the plugs here are going to make sure that whenever we are hauling something in the bed, maybe we picked up a load of mulch, we got some rock back here, it's going to make sure that it doesn't fall inside the pucks and get all dirty and then the ring on the outside just really gives it that finished look.It almost has a factory look to it if you we're to see a truck that has the prep package in it. This is probably the closest thing you can get as an aftermarket option to have that puck system in your bed. more

So they on our 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the BMW turnover ball under bed gooseneck trailer hitch, with the custom installation kit. This can also be easily converted into a fifth wheel, and you would do that using the BMW Companion, which is more or less than adapter that goes in here. That way if you've got multiple trailers are safe if you have a gooseneck knob, but you might plan on using a fifth wheel in the future. You're going to be able to tow fifth wheels and goose necks with just one kit.Being that this is an under bed kit, all of her main components are going to be located here underneath our truck, which in turn means that we're going to have full bed access here up top. And that can be especially useful when we're running around the job site, maybe throwing a few motorcycles in the bed, or even some luggage when we we're taking the family on vacation. more

Our Reese above that brace rails here are going to provide an attachment point for a fifth wheel trailer hitch however, we could also use a gooseneck plate if we have a gooseneck trailer. Now, the great thing about these Reese base rails are, they're going to accept fifth wheel hitches from a wide variety of different brands. Whatever hitch you have that uses industry standard above-bed base rails they're going to work with these Reese rails.As we can see here, we have the different slots which are going to accommodate some of the different fifth wheel hitches reissues as these two middle ones right here, I think some of the cuts 00:00:42 use the outside ones are the huskies and then our gooseneck plates actually mount with these two slots right here. more

Now today we're going to be installing this on a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The installation is not too bad. The rails themselves are going to have a very thick steel construction with a carbide black finish on it, so it's going to be very durable.You're not going to have to worry about, because these are going to be permanently installed in the bed of your truck, you're not going to have to worry about rust or corrosion getting to them because of that thick carbide finish. It's also not going to chip, I guess standard powder coat finishes. more
