Tire Chains Recommendation For 2005 Toyota Tacoma 4x4

Question:

i need chains on all 4 tires toyota recommends chains on rear tires only, this is due to clearances in front i am stunned by this and am seeking remedies other than lifts or spacers, ive heard going from the oem 265r70 16 tires to 245r75 16 which gains me @ 0.75inch will be adequate ?? i prefer a rugged truck chain and not cable or similar ive seen various attach from the outside rim types but concerned @ durability in rocky sidewall conditions please advise

The tire chains we have that are rated to work with your 265/60-16 tires on your 2005 Toyota Tacoma I recommend are the Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners, part # PWH2828SC.

These tire chains have a twist-link cross chain pattern with V-bar studs that give superior traction. These chains also feature built-in cam tighteners that make fitting and tightening much easier. I have attached a link to an installation video for these chains you can check out.

Since your owner's manual says they do not recommend installing chains on the front tires I cannot recommend any chains that would work for your truck. If you decide to use chains on the front you could run the risk of damaging the truck fender well or the truck body.
