Trailer Wiring Harness Fit for a 2013 Ford Explorer

Question:

I dont have the tow package either. When I watch the installation video it looks like there are actually two wiring harnesses near the rear passenger side. My vehicle only has one. TIA for your response.

Vehicles frequently have multiple connectors along the frame rail or behind the rear bumper. The functions of these connectors can vary from tow package wiring to backup sensor wiring to tail light wiring. The best way to determine if a plug-in style trailer wiring harness will work on your vehicle is to take the connector apart and compare them to the connectors on the wiring harness. I have attached a photo that shows what the inside of the connectors look like on the Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness, # C56172.

If the connector looks the same as the Curt connector, then this harness will work on your Ford Explorer. If the pins in the connector do not match, then you will want to use the Curt wiring harness part # C56093.

I have attached installation videos and instructions for both harnesses for you to check out.
