What is the Speed Rating for Trailer Tires

Question:

I have a trailer with 4.80 X 12 tires. I am looking for tire and rim that can be run at highway speeds of 70 -80 mph for a 500 one way trip. Any ideas what tire to use?

The thing about trailer tires is they are almost all rated for a max speed of 65 miles per hour. There are a few brands out there that do have higher speed ratings, but we do not carry those.

I did attach a page to the right that has all of the rim and tire combos we offer that have 4.80 X 12 tires. You will need to know what your wheel bolt pattern is first before you pick out the correct rim. I attached an FAQ to the right that details how to determine this.

I also attached an FAQ article on trailer tires for you to check out.
