The 20K Fifth Wheel Hitch # RP30928 will work in your new 2010 Chevrolet 3500 with Universal Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit with Rails (Full Size Pickups) # RP30035.
I spoke with our installers, who tell me that if you used the universal kit you can expect to spend about 6 or 7 hours installing the fifth wheel and installation kit. They recommend using the custom kit which will be both easier and save you a lot of time. The custom kit is Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Custom Installation Kit with Brackets and Rails # RP50064-58, which will likely cut that install time by half.
Since you have just purchased a new truck you may need wiring. I recommend the Draw-Tite Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Wiring Harness with 7-Pole # 50-97-410. It is designed to fit GM trucks and will work with or without factory installed 7-way connectors (2003-2010 GM trucks only).
